Q: What is the diameter of the thruster? Overall dimensions?

Q: Could two of the thrusters be strong enough to propel a 12 foot kayak?

Sorry, this one not enough for a kayak, but we are developing bigger thruster.

Q: What motor is used in this thruster. Is it replaceable?

Brushless dc motor with waterproofing treatment, not replaceable, but can offer motor only.

Q: what other components are needed to make this thruster work?

For wiring: The thruster have 3 wire: Black(GND) Red(power+) Yellow(Signal).You can just connect black and red wire to a dc 12-24v power or battery. Then connect yellow and black(same with power GND) to a PWM signal.For signal, you can use Arduino or Pixhawk or any other controller that can output a 50Hz PWM. The signal should be 50Hz, and the program need to initialize every time you turn on the power: output a 2ms pwm signal then delay 2-3 seconds , then output a 1ms signal, you will here a Bi--Bi--Bi-------Bi---Bi sounds, that means power on fine and initialize done. All these process is same as RC DC motor for drone. You can also simply use a PWM signal generator.
