I mainly got this because my daughter is a dancer and has to send in measurements to shows she is in. This way she can accurately do it herself without help when needed.

Seems accurate but it has been hard to measure with a person that has limited dexterity. Good value and price.

I bought this to track my inches after starting tirzepatide, and it works great. It’s simple, accurate, and connects without any drama — which is more than I can say for most of the tech in my house. The inches aren’t exactly falling off at warp speed, but the measurements are honest, consistent, and definitely showing progress. And yes, go ahead and suck in that stomach while you take your measurements. I figure it’s basically exercising those muscles anyway. If you’re always sucking it in, that’s like seven bonus workouts a week. Score. Not a magic wand, but a solid tool that keeps me motivated and mildly entertained.

Going back to the older version — this one won't hold a measurement, and the app loses them I've owned a previous generation of this tape measure and bought this one to keep tracking body measurements as my size changed. After several days and a lot of repeated re-measuring, I've given up on it and gone back to the older version. THE TAPE IS FLIMSIER THAN THE PREVIOUS VERSION This is the main thing I'd want to know as a buyer. The tape feels noticeably thinner and less substantial than the one I had before. It pops out of the housing under tension, so it won't stay closed long enough to actually take a reading. I've replaced it several times. THE RETRACTION DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY Pressing the button doesn't pull the tape back in on its own, and it never draws tight enough to sit snug against your body. You end up tightening it by hand, which means the tension is different on every single measurement. SO THE NUMBERS AREN'T REPEATABLE I measured the same spot twice within an hour and got results two inches apart. Two inches is a full clothing size. If you're buying this to track change over time, inconsistent tension makes the data close to meaningless — you can't tell a real change from measurement noise. I eventually re-measured everything by hand with a $5 dressmaker's tape and trusted those numbers instead. THE APP LOSES YOUR WORK Measurements often didn't save. I'd take a reading, save it, and find the value gone later with no confirmation at the time, you don't find out until afterwards. It's also very easy to hit a control that wipes the entire session, with no confirmation prompt and no undo. I lost half-finished sessions more than once. CUSTOM MEASUREMENTS DON'T ACTUALLY WORK You can create and name custom measurements, which looks like a solution if the field you need isn't there. It isn't. The tape won't record a reading into a custom field, and unlike the default fields, you can't type a value in by hand either. So you can set them up, take the measurements, and then discover there's nowhere to put the numbers. FOR WOMEN SPECIFICALLY There's no underbust or full bust measurement, which are the two that actually determine bra and clothing size. There is a field called "Chest," but it's never defined so it could mean the flat chest above the bust or the full bust at its fullest point. On me those are five inches apart and give completely different sizes. I guessed wrong, made sizing decisions on it, and had to unwind all of them. Combined with the broken custom fields, there was no way to record the numbers I most needed. THE APP OPENS TO THE WRONG SCREEN Logging in shows you measurement history. Your current measurements — the thing you presumably opened the app for — are buried under the tape measure, then the measuring window, then a tab called "Recent." It took me a long time to even find them, because "Recent" sounds like a history log. BOTTOM LINE The concept is good, which is why I bought into it more than once. But the hardware won't hold still long enough to give you a trustworthy number, and the app loses the numbers you do manage to get. If you already own an earlier version, keep it. If you're new to these, a self-locking manual tape costs a fraction of this and won't delete your data.

I purchased this smart tape measure as an adjunct to a RENPHO scale. I figured the numbers and percentages from the scale were good, but it would be wise to start gauging girth to have a better idea of progress. Same brand/smart sync/etc. so it seemed like a winning combo. On paper, this is a good device: it paired quickly with my phone and the RENPHO app and was ready to go. It has a pre-planned circuit of measurements, but allows you to add custom values if you need to measure something else (I added forearms, for example). I was eager to use it and get some baseline numbers. In practice, the device is just not very useful. The clip/tab that locks down and is critical for measurements does not hold well at all. It slides in place and uses a weak magnetic connection to "lock" down. I used quotes because it does not stay in place and pops out very easily. This seems to be designed for single-operator use (the instructions for measuring even switch from "hold in right hand" to "left hand" based on what you are trying to do), but even with my wife helping, the tab popped out so easily. It is almost ironic that the end of the tab is a small cylinder and looks like the classic manual tape measures, where that cylinder locks into a notch, but that is really just to keep it from retracting on itself, while the small wedge is supposed to stay in place via a weak magnetic connection. The interface with the app is wonky: I had to fight it to accept some numbers, it skipped others, and it jumped around a bit. It did not seem to want to allow me to enter the numbers manually with the device off and had to be actively paired for the entry screen to appear. I tried to be patient with it and thought there was a learning curve and my approach would have a gentler hand with practice and not pop the tab, but after several attempts, I realized this was a losing battle and I needed to return it while I could. I would probably try this again if they made a v2 with a physically locking tip, but as it is now, it was functionally useless to me.

The measuring tape itself seems sturdy and durable. Not flimsy at all. Love the accuracy of the measurements and being able to access the current and historical data within the app. The caliber of data you get using this in combination with the RENPHO scale is high quality information. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I would’ve liked the thickness of tape itself to be wider with bigger numbers and it’s very difficult to operate by yourself. While you can manage it, for best results, you need someone else to measure you because the little end piece does not securely click into place. The descriptions says it locks but it’s just a weak magnet. IT SIMPLY GOES INSIDE AND SITS THERE!! It’s very awkward measuring the thickness of any given limb while trying to hold the measuring tape in place while also trying to press buttons you can barely see while also trying to see if the measurement got registered in the app and didn’t skip ahead. It’s also really easy to lose an override data. I’m on the fence as to whether or not to keep it bc I do love to accuracy and compatibility with the app. I’ll practice some more and see how it goes. Btw, in case anyone is wondering, maximum length is 62”. Hope this was helpful.

Facilidad para medir y capturar las medidas, le pongo 4 estrellas porque al ligarlo a la aplicación te hace pensar que tienes espacio para medidas personalizadas, pero sólo te permite introducir las que tiene programado el dispositivo, aunque la puedas tomar no te permite introducirlas manualmente. Pero la cinta cumple con su objetivo de medición en las áreas más comunes. Medidas de tobillos o muñecas si tienes que hacerlo por tu cuenta y llevar el registro en papel.
