Behrens Galvanized Steel Can with Locking Lid 6 Gallon

To be used as a Doggy Doo Doo bucket . Don't use inappropriate words or the word Nazi will disallow it . This is a well made product that is of the appropriate size for the afore mentioned act . It's sturdy enough to stand up to whatever task you have in mind . It's a little bit bigger than I wanted but it will doo doo with a tight fitting lid that can be locked down by tilting the handle straight up . Plus it can double as weapon when needed just don,t expect to get out all of the dents .

This is a nice, well made metal can. Contrary to what another review implied, the lid locks nice and tight. Actually, the lid locks well onto the can without any need to put the handle in the upright position. Definitely locks well enough to withstand the strongest outside winds without being blown off. In fact, I was sortof mad at first because the lid was so difficult to remove and hurt my hands to do so. Then I found just the right way to pull on the lid with both hands and it comes off without trouble. I live in the city and just got a dog. I leave this garbage can on my front porch for depositing the bags of dog waste after I walk her. I just put a couple scrap brick pavers in the bottom for weight so the wind doesn't blow it over. Again, I never bother to put the handle in the upright position because the lid locks so well. This can is really perfect for my use and is just what i was looking for. I am sure there are a million other unique uses this can would be perfect for as well. While it seems like a pretty simple item, it's the type of thing you could go driving from store to store looking for and not find anything quite like it.

I use this to clean out my kitty's litter and it works great! Before i would just throw it in the trash but the smell was terrible. So, then I tried using just a trash bag that I would tie up and keep on the back porch but every time someone walked in the back door, you could smell it. But THIS! seals the smell completely in! So much to where I keep it right beside the liter box in the house and you never once smell a thing! Plus it's super cute! and matches my silver metal litter box! I don't even have to use air fresheners or anything inside it, but if i did it probably would make it even better. Great quality and made to last! and works way better then those cat litter genies that are just made of plastic and way more money! So I'm so glad I found this and decided to try it!! Will definitely be buying more to use for other things!!

I have the "Vittles Vault Airtight Stackable Pet Food Container 60lbs" and while it does keep a tight air seal, the material its made up of is hard plastic. What I didn't expected was that the neighborhood mouse was able to chew the lid and the container itself away, like nothing. So there is a big hole for them to enter the dog food that I place in the backyard. It was time to get a Metal Pet Food container and after many searches. This "Behrens 6106 10 Gallon Locking Lid" is my pick. I would of bought it locally at my Home Depot but they only carry the 6 Gallon size. This metal container has a very nice Galvanized finish smooth finish. The lid is not loose and its not tight either. It does have the "Seal" feeling when you place the lid on and take it off. I like the locking features so that no visitors from the backyard can have access to the dog food that is inside. There are some things that I would like to point out. The handle is "Punctured" in, which leaves a small gap of expose air. This will enable ants and such to smell what is inside this container and moisture can get in. To solve this you can add some Silicone the the handles point of connection to the lid to stop any moisture from entering. When I purchase this metal container, based on what people where saying that it will easily hold 50lbs of dog food. I was expecting to have some room left when I filled it with only 36lbs of Dry Dog Food. BUT... this 10 Gallon container that is listed for 50lbs of Dry food, can only hold.... 30lbs, NOT 50lbs. I had 6 lbs of dog food left from my bag of 36lbs of dry dog food. So that means that if you buy the 6 gallon size (listed with 35lbs of dry food capacity), you can probably only fill it up with 20lbs of dry dog food. This 10 gallon size (listed with 50lbs of dry dog food capacity), can ONLY hold 30lbs of dry dog food as you can see in my video on the day I received it. I am not looking to get the 20 gallon size as it's too big for me and the amount of space it will take plus it doesn't have this nice galvanized smooth finish nor the locking features of the 10 gallon size. Amazon (OAK5) once again did a great job at packing this container with bubble wrap, plus packing material in a super large box. It arrive without any damage and in perfect condition. I have no plans on returning this 10 gallon as you cannot find this size in any stores locally at this price of just under $18. You can find the 6 gallon size at Home Depot, Loews and Walmart.

Very well made, tight lid. Good for storing cat or dog food or bags of beans or anything you want kept dry and bug free. Also, I read that these should protect electronic devices against EMPs. I had to experiment with the bucket to see if it worked. I put my cell phone, wrapped in newspaper and wrapped in aluminum foil inside the bucket and pushed the lid on tight. Then I called my cell from another phone. If it worked, my phone should not ring. This first attempt worked until I realized I had forgotten to turn the phone on. After correcting that problem, I tried again. My phone rang. Good thing I grew up with grandparents who lived without modern conveniences. I won't miss the cell phone. In the meantime, I have practical storage buckets at a good price that I like a lot.

Beware, check inside for oil first! This bucket and lid may arrive coated in oil on the inside as did mine. I had to give it a double dish washing outdoors to get all the oil off. The oil even leaked onto the shipping box. Otherwise, strong, sturdy and lid locks on tight. Using this to store lithium batteries over winter.

No lid came like so many other people complained about I am so disappointed.

This will be a second purchase of a locking lid can of this size. The first lasted 4 years in NC weather, year round. We use them in the dog yard for pet waste and find the size to be perfect. Not too large to be a space taker, but large enough to hold those wonderful doggy droppings from week to week for pick up. We line the can so the waste is not sitting in direct contact with the can and creating a smelly mess and breeding ground for all kinds of yuck. The lid seals nicely onto the can so there is no odor. I am able to remove it with one hand and a good tug or two. Given that the can is exposed to all kinds of weather and we do have a plastic liner that keeps moisture against it, I feel that it holds up well to constant, day to day use. I really have no cons to offer. Hope you find this review helpful and will click yes to rate it. It is short, as garbage cans don't have a lot of features to explore, so ease of use and durability seem most important, and this can meets those needs. We bought this instead of a diaper paile for cloth diapers and it works really well! There are a few reviews that mention the lid sticks quite a bit, however we haven't found that's the case unless you pushing it onto the pail. The only disappointment was the lid came caved in, which was not a shipping issue as the box was in perfect condition. We used a hammer and gently hammered out the defect. This container is also a very a good size! Not too small and not too big. Comfortably holds 2.5 days worth of diapers. You can also purchase some of the larger wet bags to place inside.

The bucket itself is great. It did arrive with a small dent near the bottom of the pail but doesn’t affect the use. unfortunately, just before it arrived I saw the exact same pail and lid at Canadian Tire for $22.97!

a lot of money for a pail with no lid!!!!!!!!!!! just received, bag was ripped, no lid the only reason I purchased was because it had a lid had to give one star, otherwise I would have given none!!

The critters in our area knocked it over and got the lid off three times so far!

I am using it for a dog poop container in my backyard. The size was perfect. The only negative is the lid gets stuck shut when I push it down to close it. So I never push the lid shut, I just lightly set the lid on top and then it's easy to open/close.
