Sexy action superstar Kevin Sorbo (TV's Hercules: The Legendary Journeys) slams evil as Kull, The Conqueror, a fearless barbarian warrior, who through skill and bravery, becomes king. Worshiped by his subjects for his mercy, adored by the beautiful fortuneteller Zerata (Karina Lombard) for his valour, Kull quickly becomes the mortal enemy of the forces of darkness, led by the villainous Akivasha (Tia Carrere).Bonus Content: Production Notes Cast and Filmmakers Theatrical Trailer Review: Great buy - fantastic book Review: Kull the Conqueroo - I was a huge fan of Sword and Sorcery films (Conan, Red Sonya (yes, I know, not the greatest) She, (Sandahl Bergman-now there was a heroine), Xena, Herc and some of the Italian Sword and Sandal), and they don't make em like I liked em any more. I missed this epic when it was on Freeview a few weeks back, so I googled desertcart and found this NTSC version. Now it's no masterpiece, but what it is..is FUN. Kevin Sorbo makes a good Robert Howard hero, all bare muscular torso and (very) long hair, and he does have a pleasnt personality and can act. He is well partnered by the contrasting ladies (as they should be) - Tia Carrere (why was "Relic Hunter" not more popular?), who is sexy and so evil, and the, rather wooden except in a couple of scenes, Karin Lombard. Even our own Douglass Henshall and Edward "Ten Pole" Tudor have good parts. I thought the locations, Eastern Europe, were stunningly filmed, and the action well choreographed, if a bit overlong in places. SFX good for the budget (which I think was perhaps bigger than other reviewers seem to think). The widescreen excellent print all make this a fun film to be enjoyed, not analysed too much, just relax and go back to ancient times with the Conqueroo.

Kull the Conqueroo
I was a huge fan of Sword and Sorcery films (Conan, Red Sonya (yes, I know, not the greatest) She, (Sandahl Bergman-now there was a heroine), Xena, Herc and some of the Italian Sword and Sandal), and they don't make em like I liked em any more. Not as bad film for sitting down after Sunday dinner with the kids, Not a great all time classic film , but family entertainment.. Where the good always win , not as in real life..

Bad Guy makes it worth watching.
Suspension of disbelief is the key to enjoying this movie. Kevin Sorbo is bland. But Thomas Ian Griffith is phenomenal as general Taligaro, and actually looks like he could hold his own in a sword fight.

Not Schwarzenegger, but exactly what you expect.
So bad, it's good.

Absolute garbage. Kull ruins the entire economic system on his first day on the job as king.

great price but too cheesey to really enjoy.

Do you like the 1982 Conan the Barbarian movie? Do you like Hercules the Legendary Journey and/or Kevin Sorbo? If yes, then this movie is definitely for you. It's not groundbreaking cinematography, it's sword and sorcery fun. If I'm not mistaken, I think Kull was Conan before Conan was truly formulated and cemented by Howard. Either way, it's a good, fun movie worth a watch.

I ordered this due to its low price thinking it ought to be at least a bit entertaining. It totally exceeded my expectations! I will say the first ten minutes weren’t encouraging but it suddenly bumped things up in script and characters. The sets are magnificent, the cast is very good, and the plot moves along at a fast pace. Kevin Sorbo is very engaging as the hero and Tia Carrera is perfect as a Howardian sorceress. I was very impressed to see L. Sprague Decamp as the technical director. If you are familiar with the rebirth of Howard’s Conan stories in the late ‘60’s, having his participation in the production shows those involved had respect for the subject. Its too bad this came out in the twilight of Sword & Sorcery or we might have gotten a sequel. Overall, not Shakespeare, but highly entertaining-I found myself still thinking about it the next day and it won’t be long til I rewatch it.
