will this work on a lawn mower? or to much fuel input ?

I use mine on a Golf Cart with a small gas engine . the pump works very well

I just ordered and received this unit, it has fuel in it already like its been used. Is this normal? Anyone else experience this?

I used to work at a fuel pump Factory. It's oil that comes inside of a new fuel pump. Sometimes they can smell kind of like fuel

What size fuse should I use for this pump?

Use a fuse size to protect the wires, the wire size need to be at least large enough to carry the amperes needed by the pump.

Will this work on a 235 in line 6 cylinder?

No, this is an in line fuel pump that works in many applications but not for a Chevy 235. You might check out the Airtex 4149 Fuel Pump instead!
