READ THE DIRECTIONS!! This thing works amazingly!!
First let me say read the review from Tac Medic..Second, This is the best jump box EVER!! It is made NOT TO HOLD A CHARGE!!! You charge it by hooking it up to the low battery. If that battery only has 5% this will take a charge from that and basically turn that 5% of power into 100% IE enough power to jump start your vehicle. You can charge back to 100% once the vehicle has started but it WILL NOT hold the charge for more than a day or two. This is my second one because people suck and broke into my jeep and stole my first one!! I used my original in all types of weather and all types of vehicles and it never failed. Even on diesel trucks that require you to wait because of glow plugs. It literally took about 3-4 minutes to fully charge and always started the vehicle 1st time if it was actually a battery problem.Read the directions people!! This will not fail you!!

READ THIS!!!
The people writing bad reviews think this unit has a battery. It does not have a battery. It's a capacitor. Capacitors do charge kinda like a battery but they dump all their energy in a fast release. This unit gives a 25 second release of energy which should be long enough to start your vehicle. The capacitor doesn't need to be stored fully charged like a battery jumper. A low car battery will charge your capacitor in less than 5 minutes. Jump your vehicle and put it away. Unlike a battery, this capacitor jumper should last much longer than battery chargers because batteries go bad over time. How often to you replace the capacitor on your pool pump or your AC unit? Thousands of starts every year. You're going to be mighty upset if you plug this in and charge it like a battery pack. It doesn't need to be stored with a full charge. The concept of capacitor jump starters takes some understanding about capacitors. But if you think it will behave like a battery, you'll just write a poor review and send it back. The only draw back would be those who like to charge their phones or iPads like battery chargers do. This is NOT A BATTERY.

Charges Quickly, Easy Operation
Love this thing! I've been waiting to try this on a dead car. The problem is I've replaced all of my batteries fairly recently. As luck would have it, my zero turn needed a jump. This unit charged up quickly from the low battery. When it was at 100% I pushed the button and it gave me the boost I needed to start my mower up. It delivered more cranking power than my portable battery jumper ever did. I'm glad I bought this to keep in my vehicle instead of jumper cables.

Very good capacitor battery jump starter
This is not a tradition battery jump starter that most consumers are used to or are expecting. This is a jump starter that uses capacitors rather than a lead acid or lithium battery.I have six traditional battery powered jump start units (ranging from 3500 to 5000 amps) for my vehicles and two of the KeenPower 6000 amp units. When I need lots of cranking amps to start a difficult vehicle, I use this unit. This unit is especially good for starting larger vehicles like my diesel pusher motor home with a Cummins engine and a Ford F350 7.3 liter diesel pickup that does not like the cold, sits unused for long periods of time, and has weak batteries. It easily starts all my smaller vehicles.I many ways this unit is superior in that it does not need to have the charge maintained to be ready when a jump start is needed and it provides many more starting amps than pretty much all other jump starters on the market. The unit can be stored with a charge if desired or it will pull a charge from the battery needing to be jump started. The battery that needs a jump start will need a small amount of charge to fill the capacitors, but it is a very minimal amount needed and the battery can be almost completely dead. If the battery is completely dead, then you can quickly pull a charge from another vehicle or plug it in to a 120 volt outlet with the included USB A to C cord (a charging block is not included). Pulling a full charge from a 12 volt battery takes several minutes and a charge from the USB cord takes several hours. I store my two KeenPower units with a charge and after 2 1/2 and 4 months on non use, one unit still has a charge of 83% and the second unit has 77% as shown in the pictures.Several other reviews and the short manual explain how to use the jump start functions so I will not go into details here. There are also a few videos online showing mechanics using it to start dead vehicles in the winter months if you need further examples. Patients and understand that this is a different kind of jump starter may be needed if you are unfamiliar with it. I believe some of the bad reviews are due to this issue.A storage case would be nice to have, but the manufacturer does not provide one. I was able to find a nice soft sided and padded case on Amazon that has enough room to include a seperate air compressor as well. The two KeenPower units I own perform very well in all weather conditions and are powerful enough to start anything I have. They are straightforward and easy to use once you understand what they are. They are well built and stand up to lots of abuse. I have no association with KeenPower, but I am more than happy to give a great tool a positive review when it is earned.

This is a very powerful tool.
This is a powerful tool that works great. It is also super easy to use if you take the time to learn and understand this device. Let me say up front this unit absolutely needs longer leads. Cars and trucks today can make it all most impossible to reach battery connections. Now I’ve seen other reviews commenting on how it takes so long to get it charged and it loses its power pretty quickly. This unit is not a battery. Now it does have a small battery for the display and the controls you’ll notice it says precharging is not necessary. This unit utilizes 6 high capacity slow discharge capacitors to do its magic. A capacitor does charge but it is much faster than a battery and it stores more power, until a predetermined event happens and the capacitor begins to rapidly discharge with everything it has. Now multiply this times 6 and that’s how this booster works. Capacitors lose do not retain or hold a charge like a battery does. This is a durable tool that is capable of an almost unlimited number of charge/discharge cycles compared to a battery that is only capable of a certain number of cycles if the conditions are ideal. Temperature extremes greatly affect batteries but have no affect on capacitors. The little display can be hard to read in daylight. I get this is a high dollar item but it should last in theory forever. So in the long run I’d say it’s a good value.
