I searched for several hours. I'll save you the time, this is the best one by far and the price is unbeatable
I think I bought this tactical pen because I randomly ran across it, and I thought it was a nifty idea: you can use it as a writing utensil and also as a defense mechanism. (side story: I'm terrified of falling off of a small bridge in car and landing into water and not being ale to get out; this pen literally solves that problem (Well I guess being under water would mean I can't break the window as easily because I won't have as much force since the water will impede me, but if the car doesn't take that much damage on impact the water might not have filled the car all the way yet and then I can use full force; but at any rate, C'mon one can dream!)So I received the pen a few days ago, and I was completely shocked by it. It is so well made. The pen actually writes better than my $75 pen that I received for Christmas. I was REALLY, REALLY shocked by its high quality. Anyway, I'm loving this product so much, I decided to go buy another one that's way more expansive and see how amazing it would be since a roughly ten dollar tactical pen was amazing, imagine how amazing a $50 or a $100 tactical pen would be. To my surprised this ten dollar pen pretty much (as far as I can tell) virtually beats all the other ones, even ones that are priced 7 times more than this pen. I'm so impressed. Not everyday you see something that made with such high quality but at the same time very cheap. (I really hope this review doesn't make the sellers raise the price). I'm definitely going to start buying this as a gift for my friends, and I'm going to take out the price tag, because they'll easily think it's at least a $50 gift. What a great product! The only thing I would add is that this tactical pen does not have a hidden knife. I personally don't think a knife is a good self-defense weapon to use because it's requires the victim to be close and person and draw blood. It's a psychologically dramatizing thing that can last with you for the rest of your life. Your much better off pepper spraying them, or hitting them with this pencil which should cause a lot of pain but not insert their body the way a knife does. My choice of self-defense is a police issued peppery spray (which has three things in it: mace (a chemical that causes an immense amount of pain, but if someone is on a lot of drugs, especially PSP they won't feel it very much), it also has peppery spray (this is really good because the mace causes lots of pain but like I said drugs can make it not so effective. However, peppery spray make the attacked close their eyes whether they want to or not: it's a physiological reaction. So make sure you always have peppery spray because it causes the body to close it's eyelids without any control), lastly it has blue dye (this means you tag the suspect so if he runs away and a cop stops him and he says no it wasn't me, the cops can shine a black light on him and find him out. On top of the pepper spray, (In case the person is wearing classes or dodged my spray), I use either this tactical pen (and also try to stay in shape) or my heavy duty 65 million volt taser. The only issue with the taser is that when you first get it you have to make sure you charge it for about six hours straight. Then after try to charge it for about two hours every month. It's kinda of a pain but it requires maintenance. The peppery spray, the police issued one, is nice because you only have to get a new one once every like three-four years when it expires. I forgot to mention the police issued pepper spray they pray like a water gun for up to ten feet (regular peppery spray only spray up to 8 feet; the two feet make a big difference). Make sure to text out the pepper spray right when you get it (on a tree in an empty area and not facing against the wind) just to get use to it and make sure how to use it and all. And always keep it locked unless you feel threatened and get it read. I hope this helps. One last thing: BCBH Products, we need more companies like you in this world. Companies like you give hope and faith to humanity. Please keep up the hard work. I'd, more or less, personally handshake the people who were directly and indirectly involved in producing this amazing product (even if part of the members of that group are robots; robots need love too).

Good multi use pen
I got this a Christmas gift. I I bought two more of these since then. One for my wife and another for my other bag so I wouldn’t have to transfer everything when changing bags. The cost isn’t prohibitive and they are well made. I kind of wish you could screw the lid on the other end when I write with it.

One of my favorites
I have MANY different tactical pens of all shapes, sizes and brands and this one here is one of my favorites. It's lightweight, writes well, is not too long, not too short, has an unobtrusive clip and even has the added bonus of a glass breaker tip. Finding a good tactical pen has become a real art form these days as there are tons of styles and brands, not to mention costs. This particular pen is also extremely reasonable on the pocket book. Not sure about the rest of you, but IMO anything over $20 is pretty ridiculous for a pen, and I got this one for just over $10. An absolute bargain and a must-have for anyone looking for a stylish yet capable tool. Highly recommended.

Keep looking for another pen, this model has quality and design problems
A few days after the return window closed, the striker tip fell out of the pen. Luckily I found it and so I can try to re-attach it with some super glue. It was a surprise to have the tip fall out considering I never used the tip for anything. My other complaint with the pen is that when you take the lid off to write, the lid does not stay attached to the back of the pen.

Not the best choice if you want to use it as a pen.
This is one of those times when I should have been more attentive to the description and read all the reviews prior to purchase, because if I would have, I would likely have passed on this. The most glaring deficiency is the screw off cap. Once removed, there's no place to stow it, so it's likely to get lost or left behind. The construction should accommodate a way to secure the unscrewed cap back onto the top of the pen, but it's not engineered that way. You can jam the cap on, but it's not retained. A minor tweak would make a huge difference. The machine-work is clean. The exterior is a bit slick, as is the surface where you grip the actual pen part when writing. Not the best choice if you plan on using the pen part, of this pen.

The pen is very sturdy..
The pen is very sturdy ...good quality for the price, and most importantly, it works! My only gripe is that it would have been nice to have even the most basic of instructions. Of course, I was able to get what I needed with online videos, including one right here in the comments. It's possible this was an oversight at the warehouse too. As for that 'waterproof compartment'. I'm guessing that refers to the cap??

Love the look and the usefulness of this device!
Great addition to my tactical survival gear. Love the look and the usefulness of this device! Very nice light weight aluminum. It is a solid window breaker, feels great in my hand! The fact that it is a dual purpose tool is a great feature as well. Always need a pen! I carry it with me on duty everyday, it has a permanent spot on my molle duty outer-carrier.

Solid, well made safety pen.
Solid, well constructed. I like the sharp metal tip constructed to break glass or to make an impact on two legged or four legged animals with malicious intentions. The cap screws on well. It slips over the impact point when I need to write with the smooth writing, black ink refill included in the shipping package. Nice price for a nice product for my needs. The flat end pen cap is good for bracing your hand grip on the pen for safety or combat use.
