A fantastic Dutch oven for the price, and perfect for sourdough baking!
I've been on the lookout for a new cast iron Dutch oven ever since my trusty old one, which I had for over a decade, sadly broke during a house move. Having gone without one for a while, I recently got into baking sourdough bread and realised it was the perfect excuse to buy a new one. After countless hours of researching the ideal size, coating, and colour, I decided on this Overmont 6.6L enamelled cast iron Dutch oven, specifically because I wanted a larger capacity for baking bigger loaves, and I’m so glad I did!At first, I was sceptical since I'd never heard of Overmont before, but everything about this oven won me over. The size is absolutely perfect for large sourdough loaves, casseroles, and hearty stews. The enamelled coating is not only beautiful, but incredibly practical. The bright orange finish was exactly as shown in the photos, vibrant and eye-catching, which I was thrilled about since you often don’t get that level of accuracy when ordering online. One of the things that stood out immediately was how well-made this Dutch oven is. The moment I lifted the box, I could feel its solid build. It is heavy, just like you’d expect from quality cast iron, and feels durable enough to last a lifetime. I was particularly drawn to its ability to handle high heat both on the hob and in the oven, which makes it perfect for searing meats or getting that amazing crust on a sourdough loaf.In terms of performance, this Dutch oven doesn’t disappoint. It heats up quickly and retains the heat exceptionally well, which is crucial for baking. I’ve baked a few loaves of sourdough in it already, and each one has turned out with a beautifully crisp crust and soft, airy interior. It also works wonders for slow-cooked dishes like casseroles and stews, locking in moisture and flavour thanks to its tight-fitting lid.The delivery was fast, and the packaging was impressive. Everything arrived in pristine condition, including some lovely extras like the cotton potholders, which have already come in handy. I only paid £50.49, which feels like an absolute steal for the quality you get. It is comparable to high-end brands but at a fraction of the cost.If you're after a Dutch oven for baking or slow-cooking, this one is definitely worth considering. It is fantastic value for money, built to last, and performs like a dream. I’m thrilled with my purchase and would highly recommend it to both first-time buyers and those looking to upgrade.Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope that you found it helpful and that it assists you in your decision-making. I try to be as honest and fair as possible, as those have always been the reviews that helped me the most.

Perfect
Amazing - such a good cheaper alternative to the Le Creuset dishes. Very easy to keep clean and the yellow colour is a beautiful vibrant but not too intense colour that suits our yellow kitchen perfectly. Would definitely buy again and recommend to others. Good heat distribution and works so well for making pretty much anything. Perfect depth if you’re cooking for 2-4 people.

Excellent. Perfect for baking bread
Brilliant. Really well made, excellent price, and looks great. It's the perfect size for baking bread, which is what I've bought it for, and it does that excellently. It is heavy, but so it should be for a cast iron pot.You could also do some great casseroles etc in it too. It's a really good Dutch oven.

Excellent Cooking Results – Just Be Prepared for the Weight!
I’ve really enjoyed cooking with the Overmont 26cm/5.2L Enamelled Cast Iron Dutch Oven. I must admit, it’s quite heavy, but that’s to be expected with cast iron. The weight is worth it because it cooks food evenly, and everything I’ve made in it has turned out great. One tip I’d recommend is if any food gets stuck after cooking, fill the pot with water, add a little bicarbonate of soda, and heat it gently for a while. This helps loosen any stubborn residue and makes cleaning much easier.Overall, it’s a sturdy, high-quality pot that performs really well, and I’m very happy with it.

Brilliant 🤩
This is brilliant I know people saying the handles get extremely hot but what do you expect from something that has been in the oven for 2 hour 😂😂 worth buying 5⭐️

Overmont Sapphire Pot
Absolutely thrilled. I bought a very expensive branded cast iron pot several years ago, which is fine. However, I bought this casserole pot in sapphire for our holiday home. Used it for the first time yesterday. It’s fantastic. Such a beautiful colour, it’s worthy of staying on the hob. Too nice to put in a cupboard.

Good little pot
I wasn't sure what size pot I needed in litres so went by the measurements given in cm, and I was still convinced that 5l pot, given there are 3 smaller sizes available, was going to be too big, however the cm measurements are correct, it is a small casserole dish, suitable for 2-3 people. The colour is ok, not quite as deep as in the photos, but I don't mind that.It is very heavy, suggesting it is cast iron. The inside is cream, assuming enamel, including the lid.The lid has the usual little nobbles on the inside that helps the steam condense and return to the dish. The rim is not enamelled, so care in drying and possibly oiling tye rims to ensure it doesn't rust will need to be taken.I chose the blue pot but received bright red little silicone finger protectors and a bright red silicone trivet mat which is a tad small, you would have to be exact to line the base up with it.I haven't used it yet, so will update once I have put it through its paces, one of the main reasons I bought this one over others available here is that this one clearly states you can use it on the hob under high heat, others stating not suitable for hob use or not suitable for high heat hob use, and my old casserole dish, which lasted 15 years, was able to go on the hob on high heat so I naturally wanted a similar replacement.

Dutch oven
I love this Dutch oven! Its the perfect size for my needs; mostly baking bread. The color is so pretty! It has a nice tight fitting lid and the pot has some heft but isn't too heavy.

Looks good
I bought the 4.5Q size which will be fine for bread making and chili, stews etc. It will also easily hold a small chicken or roast. The inner bottom is 7.5" wide and the top is 9" wide. I cook for up to 4 people and this 4.5Q will be perfect for my needs. The dutch oven arrived very well packed and free of any chips. The quality of this dutch oven appears to be very good and the cost was affordable.

Better than Cuisinart
I love this! It replaced my Cuisinart and I love the quality more than Cuisinart! Plus, the two little potholders are the cutest!
