Put it together this morning. Very easy to insert batteries and thank goodness they use AA. I have these around all the time so I see this as a plus, no specula battery purchase. And thank you for the alignment mark. You won't notice it unless you need to put batteries in. Nice touch. Same thing for the salt and pepper compartments, it was so easy to lock on with the icon. This is the fanciest salt and pepper shaker that I have ever owned. Grinds perfectly and I love the adjustments at the bottom. The holder is great. I could pick it up and relocate to multiple ares in the kitchen with one hand. The soft copper look is stunning. beautiful accent and great function. Thank you

These are awesome! Right off the bad they look great on my counter and table, the copper finish is more of a rose gold and very pretty.Functionally they are great! They have a number of different settings that allow you to decide how coarse or fine you want your day and pepper ground. The single button operation on to is easy to use and the led lights are a function I didn't even know I wanted until I got these! It's awesome to be able to really see how much salt and pepper come out!

They look really nice and the salt works pretty well but it really doesn't grind peppercorns easily. Ot only does a very coarse grind and barely that.

These take 4 AA batteries each, and they do a great job of grinding. The light can be useful, and you can see the salt dropping. I had two pounds of sea salt that wasn't fine ground, and didn't like the manual grinder for my arthritic hands. Doing the entire bag was too slow a process, so these will allow me to use as I go. Not as quick as a salt shaker, but it works great. These are both very heavy with 4 batteries inside, but pushing the top button can be done one-handed. The holder is very convenient, and keeps the shakers from falling over. I'm not sure that the black plastic bottoms are of much use, and seem to be more of a nuisance than protection. I absolutely LOVE the copper finish!

Attractive set with stand, nice touch! Grinds with ease and quickly, allows for adjusting coarseness. Added light a plus so one doesn't over salt or add too much pepper. Price is exceptional compared to other models with same features. Uses only 4 AA batteries instead of six like some others. I use mine everyday, batteries still strong after two months!

Received these and at first, everything was fine. (However, they take 12, yes, 12, batteries, not supplied.) After a couple of weeks the salt would stick in the on position. It appeared the activation mechanism was loose on one side, causing it to jam. In looking further it appeared two tiny screws inside the top were "stripped". I changed this unit to the less used pepper mill and, you guessed it, that one soon started the SAME thing. I returned them both. They appear to be flawed and I would not recommend them..

I ordered this for my many friends and family for a reason. This to start with it has a attractive design, which is always nice. It is flat out impeccable being a stainless steel construction, strong steel grinding mechanism, durable, affordable and having a 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE. Did i forget to mention that you just need one hand to operate it? What else could be better than this? Well let me simply tell you that nothing can.

I have tried and tried to get the salt grinder to grind the pink Himalayan salt. It sounds like it is working, but nothing comes out. The pepper one works, though a little weakly. I am very disappointed in them. They look very nice and came in great shape, they just don't grind well. I just got them Saturday, so I am going to try again tonight when I get home from work, to see if I can get them to work. I will decide then if I am going to return them.
