Borax 1
Mix this with a sugar to borax ratio of 3:1 and the ants die trying to get their diabetes on! Here in North Carolina the fireants are everywhere, Fayetteville even has a semi-pro hockey team named the Fire Antz, that should tell you something! With so many ants around, I tried to find an economical and environmentally friendly way of getting rid of them in my yard, this either kills them or evicts them, I prefer killing them, but I’m good either way as long as they aren’t encroaching on my living space!

Super Bright Whites
If you want your white laundry to just glow, use Borax. I use it the washer in conjunction with my regular detergent, and I can't remember when or if my white laundry ever looked so good. I am thrilled. And even the colored garments are coming out brighter. Where has this tuff been all my life? Since we moved to PA my husband has complained that his undies have been getting dingy. But not anymore. Everything looks and smells super-clean.

Great!
Great for cleaning white shirts. My water is very hard and lots of minerals in it so it turns my shirts yellow. This works good for removing the stains

Don't think you need 10 lbs of Borax? Read me!
First, I love borax! It's such a safe, inexpensive and versatile cleaner. NOTHING gets my stainless steel sink cleaner! There are literally dozens of uses for this stuff! I did a quick Google search just so I could list a few, but the list was so impressive I thought I would just share it here:1. Cleaning and DeodorizingAll-Purpose Cleaner: Dissolve borax in water to clean countertops, sinks, and other surfaces.Laundry Booster: Add 1/2 cup to laundry to remove stains, neutralize odors, and soften hard water.Carpet Cleaner: Sprinkle borax on carpets to remove odors before vacuuming.Dishwasher Cleaner: Use borax to clean and deodorize the interior of your dishwasher.Trash Can Deodorizer: Sprinkle some at the bottom of your trash can to neutralize odors.2. Pest ControlAnt and Roach Killer: Mix borax with sugar or peanut butter as bait. Place it where pests are active (out of reach of pets and children).Flea Control: Sprinkle borax on carpets or pet bedding, leave it for an hour, and vacuum to kill fleas and their eggs.Mold and Mildew Remover: Mix borax with water to scrub away mold and mildew from surfaces.3. Laundry Room UsesStain Remover: Pre-soak clothes in a borax solution to lift tough stains.Whitening Agent: Use borax to brighten white fabrics without bleach.Hard Water Softener: Borax softens hard water, improving detergent performance.4. DIY Crafts and HobbiesSlime Making: Borax is a key ingredient in making homemade slime with glue and water.Crystal Growing: Create borax crystals by dissolving it in hot water and letting objects soak overnight.5. Garden UsesWeed Killer: Borax can be used sparingly to kill weeds in driveways or walkways (avoid using in soil as it can harm plants).Fertilizer: Borax provides trace amounts of boron, essential for plant growth, but must be used sparingly to avoid toxicity.6. Health and BeautyFoot Soak: Add a tablespoon of borax to warm water for a soothing foot soak.Cleaning Makeup Brushes: Use a borax solution to clean and disinfect brushes.7. Other Household UsesToilet Cleaner: Sprinkle borax in the toilet bowl, let it sit overnight, and scrub in the morning.Unclog Drains: Combine borax, boiling water, and vinegar to clear minor clogs.Rust Remover: Make a paste with borax and lemon juice to scrub away rust.Is there anything this stuff CAN'T do?Yes, this is HUGE tub of it, but I'm sure I'll put it to use. I appreciate the fact that it's in a plastic container, because the borax I've used in the past always came in cardboard boxes.. just the slightest dampness would ruin the whole batch. My only complaint is that the lid was extremely difficult to remove. I wasn't able to get it off at all, and my husband had to use tools to pry it off! At least it's safely covered. This is a fantastic bargain for a huge supply of quality borax, and, even better, it's made in the USA!!!
