Homemade pasta is more fun!
What a fun attachment for my kitchenaid. We made pasta from scratch before but cut it by hand- so I love how uniformed our noodles become when running it through this extruder. It’s well made and feels really heavy duty. I like the interchangeable plates to make different noodle shapes. I appreciate that it comes with the multipurpose tool and cleaning brush for easier disassembly and clean up. The directions are easy to follow, the manual is very clearly written. I like the bonus recipes at the back to change things up and experiment in the kitchen. I think this product is a good value, the only thing I wish that it included is a roller that makes sheets for lasagna or ravioli.

A fun and useful attachment
This is a sturdy and well built piece of equipment! I was glad to find that it fit my kitchinaid mixer perfectly, and I was so excited to use it that I forgot to document the process. It presses out the dough smoothly into each shape after some trial an error. It was easy to figure out, and I love the hand-cut swivel piece where you cut the pasta off, that way I can control the length of noodles.

Fun and easy to use
Makes pasta making so much easier. And you can make all different types. The dough has to be super sturdy and cold or the pasta will stick together.

Internal worm gears shattered on third use, unrepairable
When it worked, it worked great. Then it broke on third use. An inspection after it seized up made the cause clear; the two mating internal worm gears that transmit the power (not the plastic auger) shattered in several places causing irreparable damage to the remaining teeth. I would like to imagine that this was simply a defective unit, but that is hard to believe when the gears seem to be made of a cheap and brittle alloy capable of shattering in the first place (quality steel should bend before breaking). This occured on the third use of the machine and using the recommended power and speed settings, etc. The gears are destroyed beyond repair and there are no replacement parts available, so I am now out $120 only two months into the purchase. If the manufacturer believes this was simply a bad unit and wants to send me a replacement, then I might consider updating this review; we shall see.(Edit was to fix typos)

Pasta night is back at our house
When I first bought my Kitchen Aid mixer, I invested in the Kitchen Aid pasta attachments. The sheet roller broke after 1 use and Kitchen Aid refused to admit that they had produced a defective product. I then went on a hunt for a replacement pasta attachment that would actually work and last beyond one use. I am very impressed with this product. It is made of metal and has substantial weight to it. I like that there is one main component and 5 interchangeable blades- saves me valuable cupboard space. This is simple to use and the instructions are very clear and easy to understand. I like the variety of plates and they are all shapes that I will use. I wish there was a lasagna sheet plate but maybe this is something the company could think about adding in the future. There is a bit of a learning curve in using this attachment however. The dough cannot be either sticky or too dry in order to process through the plates correctly. It’s also important to note that after extruding two consecutive pasta dough recipes, you should allow your mixer to rest for at least one hour so as not to damage your mixer.I’m definitely more impressed with this pasta attachment than I was with the Kitchen Aid attachment and my family is happy that we’re back to having our own fresh pasta for our weekly pasta night.

Simple & Easy to use!
The media could not be loaded. I'm thoroughly enjoying my pasta maker attachment for my KitchenAid! The smell of freshly made pasta dough is amazing, and the taste of it is way better than store bought pasta. What I love most is the ease of consumption - with this attachment, I can create a variety of pasta shapes and sizes to suit any meal. As for heat level, I appreciate that the attachment doesn't generate excessive heat, making it comfortable to use for extended periods. The grind quality of the attachment is impressive, producing smooth and consistent pasta textures. My son and I have been having a blast making homemade pasta together - it's fun to use and is a rewarding experience! The attachment is simple to attach to my KitchenAid, and cleaning is a breeze. Just let the pasta crumbs dry, soak the pieces, and you're good to go! It's a great value for money, and a perfect little investment.

nice and heavy duty
I enjoy making pasta but it is a lot of work. I had a crank one and it took lots of muscles. This makes it much easier. I was surprised how heavy it is. It gives me confidence it won't just break right away. I was also looking for a way to make the spiral noodles. Now I make the dough and put it in the machine. It pushes though and comes out the bottom. You can make the noodles as long as you can. Just cut it off when it is at the right point. It is easy to attach to my mixer which is nearly 40 years old. Fortunately it has a case for the discs or I would lose them. This is a very nice addition to my pasta collection.
