TimexMen's Expedition Gallatin 45mm Watch

Solid timepiece
Initial impressions: This is a great watch at a very reasonable price point. I believe I paid $40. Watch is extremely lightweight however seems durable. Easy to set the date/time. Comfortable to wear, I don’t even notice I’m wearing a watch most the time. Will update at a later point once I have more time with it.

Great value watch, but poor packaging experience
I’m satisfied with the Timex Expedition Gallatin. The design is attractive, the watch feels durable, and it performs well—especially for its price. It’s a solid choice for those looking for a casual or outdoor style without spending too much. However, the downside was the packaging: the box arrived heavily damaged and with little to no protection. While the watch itself wasn’t harmed, this took away from the overall unboxing experience. Still, I would recommend the watch, hoping future shipments are handled with more care.

Good value for $50, but returning
Pros:-Large face-Solar powered-Light weight, comfortable strap-Date window-Easy to read/minimalist presentation-Matte black finish for less glare-Deep dial, with marked dial ring and high contrast orange indicatorsCons:-Lume lasts about ten minutes after UV light charging-Lume is less bright than my four year old Seiko-ONLY the two hands are lumed (nothing on the dial)-No lumed "noon" indicator (so you can't tell the time in the dark) [you need the position of the two hands and a referenced against the 12 o'clock position in order to tell the time. This watch gives you 2/3]-Hands are almost the same width, making distinguishing between the hour and minute hands difficult in lighted conditions, and very difficult in low lighting-Bezel does NOT rotate (no practicality, only fashion)-Solid plastic bezel, crystal, and case-Muddy gray marker and text does not contrast/stand out well against the blackCompared to my Seiko SNK805, this watch is:-thicker (even though the Seiko is an automatic)-wider (easier to read)-louder (every movement of the second hand has a "click")-crown at the 3 o'clock position (as opposed to the more comfortable 4 o'clock of the Seiko)-plastic case VS steel case-ZERO lume on the watch dial-only a date window, compared to day/date of SeikoNice enough for the price, but without the rotating bezel (the main reason I chose this watch), lumed dial, and too-similarly sized/shaped/colored hands, this watch is being return. A nice starter watch, but a step down from what I have relied on for years.

TImex is junk Timex is junk Timex is junk
JUNK, Timex watches have gone the way of junk. This time piece will not keep correct time or date. 60 days old and timex says submit to a representative repair to have it looked at. I tossed it in the lake where it belongs. I have purchased several timex watches and I will not make that bad mistake again. If your thinking of purchasing this manufacturers product, run, run as fast to another product as you can. Heck my Invicta watch was cheaper and is a workhorse.Shame on you timex for not swapping this out.You lost this lifetime customer, hopefully I can steer more customers away from your poor product.Never againNever again

Budget Seiko Prospex this is not
Bought this as a cheap work watch, but I guess all the budget went into the solar technology. No date adjust feature, gotta crank the crown over and over to adjust the date. (Also no screw-down crown, but that's expected at this price)Fake diver bezel. Lol why? Cringe as heck. Should of just put a compass bezel on there instead tbh.Cheap plastic crystal, scratches and mars just by looking at it.Okay NATO strap. Falls apart quickly, but it's easily replaceable with a better quality one.Decent lume on the hands, but none on the hour markers even though it looks like there is.Looks cool.

Great Size and Value. Very Lightweight.
Admittedly, I'm a watch snob. My daily driver is a Tag Heuer Aquaracer. This Timex was a purchase while my regular watch is in the shop. I'm impressed re: size and value. Obviously, it's much, much lighter than my all-metal Tag. Fresh out of the box and traveling with this Timex over the next week. So far, it fits the bill just right! Solar is awesome... no winding!
