This magnetic tie tac seems well made. The picture is accurate; the stone is a VERY dark blue, almost black. But it’s an elegant look, I think. We’ll see how well the magnet holds. I love this concept. I think a tie tac enhances a tie, but I hate punching holes in my ties and I’m not a big fan of tie bars. If the magnet holds, this is a great solution and I wish they made more of them. By the way, there is a matching set of button covers (by a different seller, I think) that look like you’re wearing cuff links but with a standard button cuffed shirt.

This magnetized tie pin is very nice looking, and the magnet is super strong. But it was marred by how it came to pieces right away, seems like really cheap glue was used. But I eventually re-did the glue myself with a high quality jewelry glue and so far it seems to be actually holding now. The middle stone is very pretty. The magnet seems plenty sufficient to hold a thick tie but if you have an unusually padded one, you could always add a second magnet in the back to bolster it a little more. Definitely a strong enough magnet to hold a scarf arrangement or use on a lapel. I like having a magnet so I don't punch permanent holes into my clothing with a actual pin.

I will admit the look of this piece is cool. However, it loses all credibility and practicality when it is incapable of doing what it's made for. The magnet cannot magnetize through more than one piece of fabric. I can't even connect the two piece of my tie together without it coming apart in seconds, much less magnetize it through two layers AND my shirt. I'm hoping mine was just faulty, but I saw another review with the same experience. Don't buy if you actually need something to hold a tie together!

The magnet didn't last an hour, it fell off on the way to a wedding. Liked the look, the magnet was just too weak to stay on.

Was not impressed with item, I was very much looking forward to use this but when it came the item was scratched on stone and it is noticable. Not a fan.
