Works fine out of the box! Requires 2 AA batteries (not included). The audio quality is not great, however I bought this just to have a battery operated device that picks up am/fm in the event of an emergency or just to toss in the day bag to have in the field-works great for what I bought it for and the price point is perfect for what it is. Flashlight built in-bonus! Volume is good too for an inexpensive device. Very practical but if you’re looking for high quality audio sounds this isn’t the unit for you. It’s simple and efficient, very easy to use and it has a port for headphones (not included) that you can use. If the price holds I might get a few more for stocking stuffers next year! Recommended for the price.

A great little portable radio,, in every way ,,, sounds good too . It’ll fit in most pockets.

It worked ok for about a week of intermittent use. Now after a few minutes on a station it stops receiving. I must switch to the FM band then back to the AM band and it works again for a few minutes.

Low cost radio for extended power outages. You can get more if you pay more.

Low priced quality radio. Received many stations. Here in Texas it's part of my hurricane kit.
