1Mii DS200Pro HiFi Bluetooth Receiver with LDAC, aptX HD, Audiophile DAC

This arrived today and it was a pleasant surprise to see the packaging for this receiver; it was very nicely designed and there are all the cables you'll need to get it connected to an amp (inc. digital, an RCA, and RCA to 3.5mm jack), plus all the support information you need right there. I have bought similar products in the past and none of them put together packaging of this nature.Okay enough of that, what about the sound quality?The device is easy to set up and use; but there was one thing that caught me out.I purchased this for LDAC connection and on first set up - it did not work! Or at least it appeared like it didn't work. Turn out the device contains one small limitation.LDAC does not work with the optical out port. To get LDAC you need to use the RCA connection.This is not obvious from the information provided; it is implied on a small card that sort of says turn off LDAC if device can't output 96kps and it mentions optical as well. It could be made explicit; however, not going to mark the product down for this because... the sound is wonderful and rich and far better than the nonsense ACC codec that the previous receiver passed off as quality.This is quality.The aptX HD codec works fine with optical and it's sound was very good there as well. Would have been happy to live with that so of you buy this to play music at that level it's still very decent device.Is it worth the money?Yeah, I'd recommend this to anyone.It's a well put together device that performs lovely.

After the network interface on my Marantz amp died I tried a bunch of different streaming devices through usb, airplay etc. All of them sounded cr@p. Looked at these for a while but was put off by the cheaper price, thought I would give it go. Exceeds expectations! Hooked up via optical input the streaming via iPad with Spotify with quality settings maxed out. Really, really Impressive sound quality. No pauses, no background noise, simple to set up; pretty much just plug it and pair. It automatically goes into pairing mode first time you power it up and it’s just there when you search.Honestly sounds fantastic, ok I am using my amps own DAC, but even trying just the phono rca outputs it’s superb!Tiny quality issue in that one rca connector protrudes a mm more than the other but I am trying to find faults now :) Oh and you will need your own usb power brick, it comes with the cable. I used a quality low noise one from another bit of kit.

Lockdown - had a log cabin installed. Son wanted TV, wife wanted settee and wine cooler. I was in agreement with all of that, but had some old hifi equipment which I'd replaced over the years by more modern stuff, but still delivering good enough sound for the bottom of the garden - a pair of Mission 761 speakers and a Mission Cyrus One amp, both circa 1990. The only thing missing was a source. Since we now pretty much stream everything at least for casual listening, the options were a wifi streamer or bluetooth. Started out experimenting with Sonos device off eBay. Disaster! Do not go there. Sonos proved just too difficult to set up with our wifi router. Tried all the tricks recommended on internet, but no success. Then I researched bluetooth. This one, 1Mii LDAC Bluetooth 5.0, got very good reviews and I fell for the 'audiophile' bit. Really delighted with the results. No problems with setup and the sound quality is very good, delivers a solid sound stage and all the frequencies are there and well balanced. Really nice bit of kit. I haven't tried the LDAC yet because we all have iPhones which only deliver AAC (even that sounds great with Tidal), but I also have a digital music player with LDAC and plan to try that over the weekend. I'm hoping for even better! Strongly recommend. As other reviewers have noted, the flashing blue light is annoying, so I've put the device in a drawer.

Smart simple well made and compact, the DS200Pro paired easily to my iPhone XR and is ready to go each time you switch on - no faffing around checking connections. I used the phono connectors to connect the unit to my amp (Denon PMA-520AE) which doesn't have an optical interface. The streamed sound quality from Spotify through the speakers (Q Acoustic 3050i Floor standing) is significantly better than a previous Bluetooth receiver we had, in fact it is now getting closer to the vinyl sound from the record deck (Garrard 301).I use a number of test tracks to test for specific audio nuances and one of these is "Private Investigations - Remastered 2022" by Dire Straits. At 4m 47s there is a cat meowing followed by some breaking glass at 5m 51s - the previous device did not decode this, however the DS200Pro delivers it in all it's glory.Also noted is the clarity of the piano playing during the guitar solo in "The Bluest Blues" by Alvin Lee and also in Ben Woods fantastic Acoustic guitar cover of "You Got Another Thing Coming" originally by Judas Priest.And then finally the array of instruments are decoded in superb clarity on "Let A Smile Be Your Umbrella" by Bing Crosby.The DS200Pro is a great buy, well worth the money and thoroughly recommended.

After much research finally decided on this unit mainly due to the internal components used. I received the unit with the plastic antenna and it seems well built and comes well packaged but you will need your own power adapter. Pairs with either iOS or Android easily and there are no issues with dropouts using standard settings. Sound quality is excellent, nice open soundstage and good detail using Amazon HD as a source, would highly recommend this dac for its build and sound quality.If you are using iOS you will only be using the acc codec as iOS doesn’t support aptx hd or ldac whereas android does so can potentially achieve a higher connection rate….Be aware that ldac while widely touted by Sony as the holy grail comes with its own issues, it’s adaptive so will choose a bit rate between of 330, 660 or 990 depending on connection quality, most android phones select 660 as default if Bluetooth connection is stable enough. To obtain the highest 990 you will need to go into settings and enable developer options, from within there you are able to force the default bitrate for ldac and set it to 990, have done this but the phone and unit will need to remain very close otherwise you will get dropouts to the signal due to the high data rates pushing Bluetooth to it’s limits…..I can not really hear a difference between 660 and 990 so suggest that or aptx hd as bitrate for this codec is 576kbs and again there appears to be no noticeable difference in sound quality…..All in all very happy so with this purchase.

My Sonos Connect died recently. I was using it to play digital music through the speakers on my old stereo unit. The new version of the Sonos Connect gets not-so-great reviews, and I didn't really want to be on the Sonos bandwagon any longer. So I started looking for Bluetooth alternatives to use with the old stereo, along with my Bluetooth LG TV soundbar and JBL portable Bluetooth speaker instead of my Sonos speakers. The reviews for the 1Mii LDAC were so good that I took the plunge and bought one.I have been really pleased with the results. The 1Mii LDAC sounds fantastic when playing my old CDs which have been converted to ALAC format and imported into the Apple Music app on my iPad. The iPad lets me select any of the three locations to play, so it's just like a Sonos system except that you can't play all three locations all together at the same time, which was no big loss for me.I'm using the supplied RCA leads plugged to the Aux In of my old stereo system, and it works like a charm. I cannot tell the difference between playing an actual CD on the system or playing an ALAC copy via the iPad and the 1Mii LDAC. I'm very pleased with it - it's a no-fuss high-quality solution for digital to analogue conversion. I have since sold off my Sonos speakers which more than paid for the purchase of the 1Mii LDAC, so I'm very happy with my decision to change to a Bluetooth based system.

I bought this receiver after doing quite a bit of research. I have an old denon AVR-1802 amp, a technics SL-PS740A CD player and Mission M74 speakers which has sat in the loft for years. The seller sent me a handy instruction mail before it turned up which was a good touch. It felt like I had a personal assistant! Once delivered It was really easy to setup, paired immediately and I had Spotify running from my iPhone and iPad in minutes. First I tried wiring it via the phono port, it worked but was a bit distorted so I switched it in the V Aux input using the optic cable which came with it and the sound was great! It was quite pricey but compared to the cheaper receivers with mixed reviews well worth spending the few extra pounds! Comments about the blue light not a fuss, it’s not that bright. Overall an awesome little gadget and I’m so happy to have my hifi back in the room!

Great while it lasted. In the modern world am I expecting too much? Paying £100 for a bluetooth receiver to improve a Yamaha bluetooth amp, I personally expect it to be built to last more than 4 years, so I'm reluctant to replace it as the are many 32bit ldac bluetooth receivers available for less the £50

I've had this for a couple years now. I originally bought it because I needed a cheap Bluetooth receiver that supported LDAC and wasn't terrible. I've been very pleased with it so far. It turned out to have even more codec support than I recall it being listed with back then and the sound quality is excellent. I even did a head to head comparison wired vs Bluetooth LDAC with this using "lossless" music and couldn't tell a difference.My only gripes with it is it sometimes takes a few tries to connect, once in a blue moon I need to power it off and back on before it will; and once in the time I've had it, it spazzed out and played a loud humm/beep through the speakers, but again a quick off and on resolved it and it hasn't happened since.

Tengo o tenía un amplificador Technics de los años noventa. Hace unos meses el técnico le dio un repaso y funcionaba perfectamente. Le conecté el aparato y funcionaba de maravilla. Al día siguiente el amplificador no funcionaba. El técnico dice que el aparato lo ha quemado y que no sabe si podrá encontrar resistencias y transistores de repuesto.

Very happy to receive the Lavaudio HiFi bluetooth adapter.I am a musician by training and a filmmaker (producer and director), all of which means I spend a lot of time listening to various audio formats through a variety of playback options (headphones, computer speakers, high end audio speakers, etc). My wife is a professional musician, and so we're often listening to different mixes and masters together, again out of various sources in the house or a studio.Lavaudio makes the DS200Pro, and it is a subcompany of 1Mii. I also own the 1Mii BO3 Pro, which is a decent bluetooth receiver/transmitter combination. When watching films with a projector, I use the 1Mii BO3 Pro to wirelessly receive audio from my iMac computer (it's automatically split off from the HDMI out that runs video to the projector). Living in a NYC apt, this is great, b/c I always have to compromise on space and setup, and this allows good flexibility. In terms of latency issues, there's never been a problem using the 1Mii BO3 Pro to watch films, and it works well as a transmitter when I need to wear headphones and watch a film.But there's always been some minor, yet noticeable sound quality issues from the 1Mii, especially when sending higher quality, but also with everyday audio and video applications. With the BO3 Pro playing lossless files, there's latency issues, some dropping that manifests as slight pops and latency delays, and a loss of clarity as well.The Lavaudio DS200 Pro solves all of these with ease. Clarity and dynamic range are noticeably evident, a lovely sound. I am impressed!Music: I tested the DS200 Pro next to the BO3 Pro playing the same four pieces by Johan Johannsson that have a good amount of range, dynamics and acoustic and electronic instrumentation to hear. I used FLAC files streamed from a VLC player from my iMac, into either bluetooth receiver, and into a simple old Yamaha CR-450 (nothin' special!) and out of two Paradigm Monitor SE Atom speakers. I haven't spent a ton of money on this setup.I also streamed some music from Bandcamp with my Google Pixel 4a (which doesn't support 96k sample rates, but anyways, gave it a listen. Still, you're advised to switch OFF LDAC in the bluetooth menu if you're phone doesn't support 96k rates.) All was well with that setup. I don't think I'll use it too much, so I moved on fairly quickly here.Streaming Video: Again I tested both the DS200 Pro and the BO3 Pro next to each other. I streamed Boyhood from the Criterion Collection. It has a quick intro music by Coldplay, some dialogue over the music, then straight into a dialogue scene in a car. I wanted to check on any latency issues and see what else I noticed. First off, the DS200 Pro has the volume I intend to hear the first time, whereas the BO3 Pro I've always had to mess around with volume on my computer, the BO3 device itself, AND my amplifier, and for some reason it never stayed steady. I don't know why and I don't care why, I just know that's something with the BO3 Pro that's always annoyed me to have to dial in every time. Not so with the DS200 Pro -- no problems with volume settings. No problems with latency with either device.Again, though, the DS200 Pro provides noticeably better sound, even when not streaming a lossless file. In this case it wasn't the music itself in the film, nor the dialogue, but rather I felt like I was hearing the mix of the film's audio better. For example in the car when the characters are conversing, some audio mixer spent a lot of time mixing in the sounds of the car, the occasional bird in a tree when they're at a stop sign, etc. It was there and delivered evenly.Finally, I tested the two devices against a DVD of Bladerunner to see how they handled the booms and electronics of Vangelis' soundtrack with the explosions and sound effects. Just the opening sequence and fading down into the first scene with dialogue. Again, the DS200 Pro delivers all of this with out me having to mess with the volume controls -- it just seems more even than the BO3 Pro when it comes to this. With the BO3 Pro I really was always going up and down with the volume a lot, and so far that doesn't seem to be an issue with the DS200 Pro. Great! Of course neither had latency sync issues.Other Positive Things about the DS200 Pro:-Startup: When you turn the DS200 Pro on, it's just on. You don't have to hear that annoying startup jingle that a lot of bluetooth devices play, and there's no connectivity beep either -- those drive me nuts for some reason, and they're often at much high volumes than what I intend to playback.-Size/Features: The DS200 Pro is 50% smaller than the BO3 Pro, and has only one antenna. Less lights and features to look at -- for what it's worth, the BO3 Pro likes to tell you if you're streaming SBC, AptX, etc -- just one single blue light on the front of the DS200 Pro.-Comes with a variety of RCAs, digital output and 5V power adapter. Cord is a little short for the power adapter.-RCA connections on the back of the DS200 Pro are gold plated, nice touch.-There's not much in terms of instructions, just enough to get you connected. If you're using a phone to stream and it can't do 96k sample rate, you're advised to open the bluetooth menu and turn OFF LDAC. I have a Google Pixel 4a, and it does not support the 96k sample rate, so i did this. I streamed some music from bandcamp, no problem.One final note comparing with the BO3 Pro...if you leave the BO3 Pro on, there's often some faint high-pitched squel that comes through the speakers. It always worried me, no need to damage speakers! But I certainly do not hear that from the DS200 Pro. So, overall, all the things that annoyed me about the BO3 Pro are not manifesting themselves in the DS200 Pro -- which is great!!These are my initials thoughts on the DS200 Pro. Over the next couple weeks I plan on using it quite a bit -- I'm excited to go through my lossless audio files again and enjoy some music! But I also plan on keeping my BO3 Pro in case I need a bluetooth transmitter. And I may update this review with more.Check out the specs for the Lavaudio DS200Pro -- it's a great little device and worth the cost, which is minor for the quality it delivers.Note to the company: not seeing the DS200Pro on your website yet. It would be nice to get it up there with some information and specs.
