Good, versatile charger
Having used this charger a few times to charge both lithium and NiCad batteries, it's performing very well. Good, informative display and fast charge times. No complaints so far.

This is just what you need for 18650s and more
Oh, yes ๐๐๐ This is absolutely awesome, and covers everything you could possibly need. You just want a bloody good charger with no fuss? This is perfect. Put the batteries in, and they charge properly. You are maybe a bit on the spectrum, and you want a bloody good charger that gives you data, and stuff (like me ๐คฃ), then this is perfect for you. Certainly if like me you use a high power vape like the TH2 PHE ๐ There is nothing more to say.

Highly sophisticated. Not great for AA and smaller.
Not just a dumb charger, this is a battery analysis and diagnostic tool. Senses the type of battery and adjusts current accordingly (Pic 1). All four slots are independent, and easily identifies failed and failing cells. This is a big device, and can charge sizes up to D - the big ones. But as a result, the bumps on the metal terminals are high up, which means AA and AAA have to be suspended in mid-air to make contact, and can disconnect if knocked. It should come with sleeves or a tray for these smaller sizes. (Pic 2) Complicated, but feels like a proper tool.

Very useful functionality
I bought this charger mostly for the grading function, as I was struggling to weed out 'Bad' batteries from a large set of AA and AAA NIMH batteries. The grading process is quite slow as it has to charge, discharge and then charge again. But that is the only way it can be done. The results for capacity seem very accurate. The ones it scores low are ones that when tried in a device will fail to supply enough power. The internal resistance values seem less accurate, removing and replacing the same battery can result in wildly different measurements. But that is common amongst many chargers, as it is difficult to measure accurately in a charger. The charger has enabled me to sort my batteries into low power and high power and save money on replacements.

Great charger
I really like this charger. The quality is good and apparently it's good for the batteries in the way it charges them. Highly recommended.

Grading function busts those battery sellers who over inflate their product's capacity
The instructions are not that easy to understand at first and the tiny wrtiting doesn't help. The charger can recharge various Li-Ion, NiMH and NiCd recyclables. It will distribute the available current across the total load. A maximum charging current can be set. Bad batteries, batteries wrongly inserted or non-rechargeable batteries bring up an error. I found the grading function particularly useful. Grading discharges the batteries as far as possible before charging to the maximum capacity. In this way the charger can determine the actual capacity of the battery. My first photo shows the grading of some brand 18650 batteries I just bought on Amazon, which claimed a whopping 9900mAh of capacity. I also graded some older 18650 batteries with a claimed capacity of 3400mAh. The new batteries were very disappointing, they had less than 1/9th of their claimed capacity. The older pair were quite close to their claimed capacity but three times the capacity of the pair that claimed to have a capacity of 9900mAh. I tested these in a torch and sure enough the older batteries lasted roughly three times as long. The new batteries are going back for a refund. The second photo shows a grading of new AA Li-Ion batteries which claimed to have a capacity of 2800mAh. They were found to have about 2/3 of that claimed. The third photo shows how the grading function can be used to weed out dead or poorly performing batteries. The light turns from red to green to indicate that the grading process has finished. In all this is an impressive product. I now label my batteries with their actual capacity, I've thrown out some dead or nearly dead batteries and I've uncovered what appear to be fraudulent claims made by battery manufacturers.

It charges
Seems to work well. Compatible with different batteries. Different charging speeds via how much current/amps. Early days

A versatile charger that's slightly let down by a few minor niggles
This review is for the VC4+ model. First of all, this is a great little charger for Ni-Cd, Ni-MH or Lithium ion batteries. It's easy to use: simply insert the battery and the charger auto senses which type of battery it is (NiMH or Li-ion) and begins charging accordingly. You can charge 1-4 batteries of any mixture of NiMH or LI-ion and select the charging current via a button on top of the charger - anything from 3 amps for a single battery or up to 3 amps shared across the number of batteries on charge. As the supplied QC3.0 compatible mains unit can only output 3 amps (18 watts maximum) this has to be shared across the batteries being charged, so you can't charge 4 batteries at 3 amps. I tend to use 250mA as standard, but be aware that every time the charger is powered up, it defaults to 3 amps, requiring you to press the 'Cur' button to obtain the desired charging current which can be set as follows: 3A, 2A, 1A, 0.5A and 0.25A and back to 3A again and so on. The supplied QC mains unit outputs 9V to my VC4+ at around 0.2A when I'm charging two cells at 250mA (the lowest setting), which is about right. I'm not sure if other, more powerful QC chargers (e.g. 30 or 35 watt) can be used: I can't see why not as the VC4+ has a USB C power input socket on. The unit is supplied with a 0.75 metre long USB A plug to USB C plug lead which plugs into the mains unit and charger. The charger senses when the battery is fully charged and flashes FULL on the display and the red charging light turns green to show charging has stopped. One area where this charger does not fare well is when dealing with batteries that have been over-discharged and are giving out no voltage at all: after around 3 seconds the display flashes ERR and nothing further happens. I have an EBL 'intelligent' charger that will at least try for a minute or so before giving up and often this is enough to 'wake up' a dead battery. This dead cell problem is usually caused by fine crystals of electrolyte connecting both electrodes together and effectively shorting out the battery and preventing it from charging. There is a way to overcome this problem: you'll have to search online. Whilst this charger will charge 4 batteries at once, you can only charge two D batteries at once as there isn't room in the charging bay for any more than two. You can use slots 1&3, 2&4 or 1&4. The charger can accept 4x any other size at once up to C size, but no fatter. I have just charged two 8AH 26650 Li-ion and many NiMH battries with no problems. Now for the gripes: all of which are minor. 1) the display can be difficult to read sometimes as the text (particularly the battery voltage) is very small. 2) The positive connectors on the 4 slots could do with being a tad taller and a little more proud of the casing as some batteries - particularly D batteries - struggle to make connection with the contact. I have two Varta AAA NiMH batteries with almost flush positive contacts on and they refuse to connect at all as the contact on the charger does not stand proud enough from the casing. 3) The charger compartment could do with being a little wider to accommodate 4x D batteries at once. 4) I would prefer to see 0.25A charging current be the 'default' charging current rather than 3A Recommended overall, but if the minor niggles I've highlighted are addressed in later versions, this charger will be a real winner!
