Minimal bulk, dockable, protective, and comfortable
This YOOWA case is minimal & ergonomic that covers just enough to protect the vitals of the Switch without completely enveloping the good looks of it. Allows functionality by maintaining the removal of removing the Joy-Cons and insertion into the docking station. Is also a one-piece design to give some structural support to the side-attached Joy-Cons.I researched a lot of different cases for my Nintendo Switch and I am glad I went with this one from YOOWA. Yes, it is just another one of those generic, "Made in China" types, but that alone shouldn't steer you away. It achieves everything it states: protective, Joy-Cons can be removed without taking off case, offers a more comfortable grip in your hands versus a "naked" Switch, and is actually dockable. Although, it doesn't completely cocoon the system (most notably being that the LCD screen is exposed) and a different, "more complete" option might want to be consider when purchasing for a Switch exposed to young children, or others, who may run it through more of a rough lifespan.I didn't want to completely cover the beauty of the Nintendo Switch, but I did want to protect it from (hopefully) minor bumps and drops. The Switch is actually very resilient by itself, and I am an adult who cares for my things, but it still worries me that if I were to drop it, without a case, from a moderate height onto a hard surface it may cause unwanted damage such as one of the Joy-Cons taking the brunt of the impact and causing damage to the connecting track that then becomes loose/broken, the system portion itself receives too much force and causes failure, or just unsightly scratches and blemishes. Some things worth noting, though: 1) removing the Joy-Cons is not as easy as it would be without the case on. It is still very much doable and I believe it is an equal trade-off between the protection & convenience. 2) I would recommend also purchasing a quality glass screen protector to help protect the vulnerable LCD screen. 3) Yes, it is dockable, but you may notice a bit of resistance when inserting it into the dock. I believe that it is a perfectly acceptable amount that will not damage the dock or system, however. In fact, I like the more secure feel of the system in the dock with the YOOWA case on versus "naked."PROS:Minimal, one-piece design offering just enough protectionCan still be safely placed into docking station & Joy-Cons can be removed with case onErgonomic "bulbs" on back of Joy-Cons make holding the Switch much more comfortableCut-outs in case are precise and allow for 100% functionality of Switch features (ports, vents, speakers, stand, & buttons)Cleverly utilizes two different materials to maximize protection and comfort where it matters (PC/"hard plastic" material for main body (system) and TPU/"soft plastic" for Joy-Cons)Case is attractive itself and doesn't take too much away from the Switch, eitherCONS:Joy-Cons can be a bit difficult to remove (price worth paying in my opinion)Excellent case. Exactly what I was looking for and does not disappoint.

It does dock, but not without issues.
This was the ONLY dock-able cover I could find, and it does work overall, so I'm not upset with this purchase in any way. It could, however, use a LOT of improvement. The "handles" that are added for comfort help, but seem too small for even a small child. It makes a difference, but doesn't get close to "feels good." To be fair, it would be impossible to expand shape this inward as it would interfere with the docking, nor could it be expanded downward, as it would block the USB ports on the dock. 3/5The material seems relatively sturdy, which makes removing the case a task, and one that always makes me feel like I'm going to put too much strain on my console trying to take this thing off. It feels like I'm going to shatter the case, or break the joy-cons and/or the console itself, so needless to say, I now am never going to take it off. I have no desire to use the joy-cons at any point in my life, so this isn't the worst... but I was relying on them to be backups for couch co-op. This cover would not help against dropping damage nearly enough to justify the material rigidity, and even JUST the joy-con bits could've been made softer for both comfort and easy of application/removal. You can access all the buttons easy enough and it's thin design really does make it a better travel companion, but it is almost guaranteed to scratch up your console when putting it on/taking it off (especially at the top, it is not smooth getting it over the small volume buttons and such). 2.5/5In terms of docking, my copy definitely allows it, but it is not a great fit. There are some times when it doesn't seem to really sink in so I have to try a few times, and yes, I'm placing it carefully and correctly the first time. I'd imagine it has to do with the little bit of added thickness it causes, as even when it does finally fit in, it doesn't really *click* in so it sometimes feels like it's a balancing act, wobbling if I touch it and transmission falters. The reason I am mentioning this thusly is that sometimes it does *click* in, and ends up feeling completely secure and transmits perfectly. So it does work, but it's clear that a softer mold (foam, rubber) would've been far more effective than this hard plastic junk. 2/5The biggest relief, for me, actually isn't to do with this product directly but rather the indirect happenstance of it's design. I have FOAMY Dust Covers for all my consoles (seriously, look into them if you haven't) and thankfully, this cover does not prevent or even make any added effort to slip the Switch DC on and off the dock. This is the biggest saving grace, and really is due to the design of this console's dust cover (perhaps my favorite from FOAMY yet). All in all, I'm glad there was something out there to make the handheld experience actually manageable... the switch was not designed to be held for comfortable in the slightest, which is deeply disturbing considering it's practically the main selling point (other than being a Nintendo). I just wish it wasn't so stiff so I would feel comfortable removing it when needed. I would love a larger grip space but I do understand why that might not work, so it's a decent addition as a whole, and for me, works relatively well as a mostly solo local player. If you use the joy-cons a lot, be it alone or with frequent group-plays, I wouldn't imagine this is the one for you. You'd be better off with a quick, removable rubber set, as would this product.

Its good!
I got this case as my joycon grips that came with my zelda case were thoroughly worn down. They had a similar design as this case does for gripping. Now, it does dock. I have two docks, and one I have to push down to fully connect and the other goes in slightly easier but both need a finger on the dock to remove. Its tight but not damagingly so.My switch had the issue where the back side of the casing is not firm on there. It seems to be a common issue but the plastic broke down quickly and some of the screw holes broke out just from play. This case is nice in that it holds everything nice and tight. It really feels like extra protection. This is the reason I picked it over the ergonomic designs that have handles like the pro controller(that also don't dock) and it covers that issue well. The extra protection for the rear and the screen(it wraps around the front a bit so if it was set face down it'd be elevated slightly) are nice.My main grievance with this case is while it touts that you can remove the joycons with the case on... You can, but I had to take the case back off and work the buttons on the case with a chopstick to be able to depress them enough to get the joycon off. Its a two hand job even still. I feel it would have been better to just leave a finger tip sized spacing for the removal button. That and making a version with larger handle style grips are the only things I would add to make this perfect. The rest is great. Worth the money.
