I've given this item 4-stars because I believe that, if it fit properly, it would be beneficial.I am 5'10" and 175 lbs with--yes--slightly more belly than I would like, thanks for asking.I ordered a large. I have adjusted all of the fitting to their most open, largest size possible.Sitting here, typing this, I feel the elastic shoulder straps pulling into my shoulder. Perhaps this is part of the tension that helps correct your posture, but it is mildly uncomfortable, even when I thrust my shoulders all the way back. Additionally, the bottom of the shoulder straps are... noticeable under my armpits, where they wrap around to the back.The belt that goes around your mid-section--most comfortably between my chest and my not-insignificant-but-also-not-rotund belly--is also at its largest setting, and I feel very slightly constricted in my breathing.The back section has a stiff, flat something in it, which is where the most obvious correction comes in. Whatever that stiff, flat something is, it is not at all uncomfortable. When I start to hunch my shoulders, it is nothing more than a gentle reminder to correct my posture.Please note, this product does absolutely nothing for your lower back. It seems to be almost entirely concerned with pulling your shoulders back into better form. To that end, it is working. I am not hunched over my computer, and my shoulders are back.If it were just a touch bigger, a couple more inches on all the straps, I would definitely find this beneficial.FWIW, I broke my shoulder blade at one point, and this is almost exactly the same thing they gave me to restrict my movements during the healing process.

I'm starting to get very poor posture from working on a computer all day. I was hoping this brace would help me to stop hunching over. It does keep me sitting straighter and I do feel some pressure coming off of my shoulders and neck while wearing it. Hopefully it will eventually teach me not to slouch. After I take it off, I do feel a bit sore. Maybe this is part of the adjustment period. It didn't come with any recommendations or instructions for use. Putting it on is pretty easy to figure out. I think it runs small, you'll probably want to order a size larger. I'm 5'9, 170lbs, women's size 10 or large, and the large just fits with no extra room. My son wears a men's medium and it just fits him with no extra room. It is supposed to be fitted to do its job but you still need to be able to velcro it. It doesn't feel too bad to wear it, it's padded and not super bulky. The only thing I don't like is that it rubs under my armpits if I'm not wearing a thick shirt under it.

This is going to be a product that works well for some people and doesn't work well for other people – dependent upon the nature of how and why you have poor posture, and your actual height and proportions of your body. As their ad states, this is probably something you will need to initially wear for a short time each day and then gradually increase that time. Even though it was rather uncomfortable while I was wearing it the first time I have to say that my back and chest felt good with it on. There are no instructions included with the package, so be sure to read and keep the instructions in their ad. In addition, please realize that you will be adjusting each of the shoulder straps with velcro – this isn't clear in their ad, and then using velcro to hold the apparatus around your chest area. The ad also refers to “zipper closure”, but there are no zippers on the apparatus. I am 5'3” tall and weigh 126 pounds and I ordered a large, which seems to fit me correctly.
