I am actually very impressed with this and how easy it was! I have had my Mac since it was released 5 years ago, and it went from great battery life to a lot less. I think it was down to like 78 percent max capacity.The instructions were very specific and clear, and they explained every single step from start to finish. They even showed images of every individual step as well. The hardest part of the installation was removing the old battery from the device because it was attached with a super strong adhesive. I made the mistake of using a small metal screwdriver that made the battery spark. It was terrifying, but didn’t do any damage, luckily.Once the installation was complete, I was seriously so relieved when it began powering back on. The first thing I did was go into settings to check the maximum capacity of the new battery. 100 percent!This kit is awesome and saves a LOT of money. This is about 1/5th the price of what they charge at the store. It really isn’t difficult to DIY. You basically need to know how to use a screwdriver. Definitely worth it.

I've done battery swaps before. Each time I tell myself "Yeah, no. Not doing that again." And yet, "again" always seems to happen. I was apprehensive when I first read the product description but thankfully the installation instructions are clearer. This is still a significant repair for us mere mortals, and I recommend going slowly and getting help (there are hundreds or more YouTube videos on the process) if you have the slightest bit of uncertainty. Remove the old adhesive carefully and try to not disturb anything that doesn't need removing. And, generically-- as in, not specific to this particular battery-- have a backup plan for when you destroy your machine. Most of the tools and materials you'll need are in the box.Once successfully installed, plan on the OS and settings needing to "re-learn" the battery state and estimated remaining power.Honestly, the battery and connectors seem solid. Most of what can go wrong in an installation is user error. Just be careful and, again, have a backup plan.

Comes with a thorough instruction booklet with full color pictures. Intermediate difficulty installation, on par with changing any other lithium ion battery but high stakes working on a $1300 computer. Wouldn't do this as my first repair. I watched a few videos. It took me about 2.75 hours from taking out the first screw to closing. I took out the trackpad because I used rubbing alcohol to remove the battery adhesive. The hardest parts are breaking up the adhesive and reconnecting the pins that connect the laptop to the battery. The kit technically comes with everything that you'll need but it would be easier with a few other things:-Rubbing alcohol and dropper or small spoon for removing adhesive-Tweezers for reconnecting pins-Magnetic bowl for screws - can also stick them in included packaging foamValue is about average compared to competitors, although much better than paying $249 to get an official replacement and service. Note that changing the battery got rid of the "battery service recommended" notification even though it's not Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Performance and battery life feels like the original battery although we'll see how well it holds up to gaming. Will update if it fizzles out.Note gloves are XL or XXL which is too big for precise work for anyone with small hands.

Battery works well, and has restored my MacBook Pro to a healthy state. The installation process is not easy at all, but that is not the battery manufacture's fault, it's Apple's. Getting the old battery out is not for the faint of heart. My only complaint is that the instructions get a little vague at times. Overall, if you are brave and don't mind a challenge, then this kit can restore your battery life.
