This product is an 8oz bag of seed for growing cat grass. Soil and planter are not included, though we do have a kit that comes with a planter, seed, soil and detailed instructions on how to use the kit. You can find that and all of our other products on our storefront.

Hi Greg! It is up to you and your kitty, ultimately. The grass does not require trimming, but if you prefer a crisper look you could trim it. If you find the grass is getting so long that it starts to droop, you could cut it a bit to help keep it fresh looking.

Q: Can I grow the seeds in the soilness planter with just water?

yes! You should have no problem growing them just like you would microgreens. Just be careful your cat doesn't knock the planter over and make a watery mess!
