ASUS ROG Loki SFX-L 1000W Platinum (Fully Modular Power Supply, 80+ Platinum, 120mm PWM ARGB Fan, Aura Sync, ATX 3.0 Compatible, PCIe 5.0 Ready, 10 Year Warranty)

This is the first time we have used an SFX-style power supply for one of our builds. It is 1000 watts and platinum-rated, so I don't know what I expected. The build was going into a Thermaltake 300 case requiring a Mini or Macro motherboard. Please keep in mind that motherboards of those sizes are actually reversed in their nomenclature. The "Micro" is a more giant board than the "Mini." It's just another thing one needs help understanding about the computer world. The case would accommodate an entire SFX power supply, but I wanted our techs to have more room to maneuver while building. That theory worked out great. With the extra room, they could store the extra wires neatly. Also, you must realize that the motherboard is rotated with the 300 (and also the other from Thermaltake) tower-style cases. The socket area used for a standard build is on the left, which becomes the back of the computer. This socket area ends up on top of the case. This then puts all the cables in a different position, too. The 24-pin cable is on the bottom, only a couple of inches from the position of the power supply. You end up with about 6-8 inches of extra cable. As I said, now we have a larger area to fold and store the extra. This PSU also has programmable RGB, which can be done by simply plugging the cable into a standard ARGB socket on your motherboard. Unfortunately, you can't see too much of the light show in this case. A great power supply that does its job and saves you a lot of room for your arranging.

Very good SFX power supply! I use this in the O11 Dynamic Mini and it fits with no issues. All the cables are long enough and thin and individually braided. I never hear the fan.

The cables that come with the psu are great. Braided thin and very flexible. The 12vhpwr native cable worked like a charm as well. I wish they would include a 90 degree cable rather than the pcie 12v and the native 12v, but that's ok since I had to order custom cables anyways. If you are using a case in the 20l or above range you should be fine. I'm using a 15l case and had to order custom cables because these are too long to manage with what I have crammed in there. My biggest worry was noise and coil whine. I watched some reviews that suggested there was bad coil whine on these. I threw a sustained 800w load at this (1000w PSU variant) and heard 0 whine. Fan was quiet as well and follows a pretty good fan less design until a high internal temp is picked up. Regular gaming on a 4080 and 7950x the fan started once and it was at a very low rpm. The RGB is whatever. If you don't like it, just don't plug in the RGB cable to the PSU and it won't turn on. Psu itself looks great. If it's viewable from the outside, it should add rather than detract from the aesthetic.

Easy to install, they should put in description that is does come with a ATX to SFK conversion bracket, i'll have to send the one i bought back. All moduler plugs very easy to use, good quality. highly recommend this. The power stability is better, than my last psu had slight power fluctuation issues with my gamemax 850watt , very happy with this purchase!!! Also happy to report the argb fan synced up nice with with my system, kind of little cherry on top, purely cosmetic but nice!
