The media could not be loaded. Although the product images show this being used with real candles, for me it works best with the scented wax melts that you can buy. I have a tea light burner that I use to melt them usually, but the advantage of this electric lamp is that you don't have an open flame, so there's no problem leaving it on around children or animals. You have a timer that you can adjust according to the duration of the wax's melt life, and an adjustable heat setting, which is very important. Watch out as it does get quite hot, and you need to take care with the melted wax (melt it on a heat proof saucer of some kind and leave to cool afterwards). Finally, the adjustable dimmer and the cut glass shade give off a lovely ambient light, bringing a bit of old-style glamour. I guess this might be a bit of a novelty item really, but it's functional and attractive and if you don't want to use an open flame, it's the perfect solution.

They make expensive scented candles last for ages as you're not burning the wick.This one from GODONLIF arrived nicely packaged and everything was intact. It comes supplied with 2 halogen style bulbs. All you do is insert a bulb, adjust the height of the lamp, pop a candle under it and plug it in. That's it.The lamp runs off mains electricity, so it needs to be sited within about 3 foot of a socket.The supplied plug has a few different timer settings and a dimmable control knob.Because the halogen bulb is pretty strong as 50 watts I wouldn't suggest using it on anything other than the lowest dimmable setting. It heats up really fast if you leave it on full and it made me a little uneasy at how much heat the lamp threw out.Used properly these lamps are great for a nice evening ambience and they do release the scent from your candle in a not overpowering way.I like it.

EditI have had this for a couple of months now and love it even more. I have been using the small liberty candle shown in my images over and over and I am still getting scent from it. I generally put it on for a couple of hours on the timer. The smell continued to release until the wax has solidifies again. Had I been burning this candle it would have been fully used up after a couple more uses, as it was already half gone after being lit twice for a couple of hours.So this item pays for itself. I don't know if that candle is particularly good for holding its scent over others, but either way, it is my favourite candle scent and it has given me hours more enjoyment than I would have had by buying it. This product is brilliant for anyone who loves candles, you get a nicer light from it and a lot of extra usage out of each candle.I didnt know this was a thing, but now I do, I am converted. The pictures don't really do it justice.If you have it on high, it melts the small candle I tested it on really quickly and fills my room with scent. However the wax then sets again. It will be interesting to see if this prolongs the life of a candle.The first time I used this candle and lit it, it went down quite quickly, but when I used this instead, I only needed to leave it on an hour or so and it continued to scent the room after I turned it off. You do not need to have it on high and you can raise the lamp to a higher lever to accommodate bigger candles. I’m somewhat baffled by the reviewer concerned about how hot the base got when she hadn’t used it with a candle underneath to absorb the heat. After all’, it is supposed to give of heat to melt the wax. The bulb is halogen because of the heat required.Because of the bulb, you get more light than you do from a candle alone, which creates a nice ambience. It looks really nice and I will consider another one of these for my bedroom.
