Vinland Saga 5

This manga is a masterpiece... Besides the history of viking era and endless wars between viking and englisch and all these norway-london Denmark regions... This manga has something to teach us all...Love the drama, the plot, the action and wht is left behind this story for us to reflect on...

I don't often read manga, but I could not resist this one after watching the anime and cannot stop reading it once I started. The intriguing historical details, abundant psychological descriptions, and the beautiful scenery of Northern Europe are combined with this epic story of a true warrior. I really look forward to season 2 and more animations of this great work!

If you like Viking then this manga is for you it's a must read and I absolutely love Thorfinn's character development 📚

great quality binding, the scans look good to my eye. I love the artists notes at the end they are a joy to read. the size makes reading slightly cumbersome but not as much as the deluxe berserk sets. the size was distracting at first but quickly fades as you get absorbed into the story.I heard many people describe this arc in the story as boring or slow paced. I completely disagree. there are less fights and that is probably what people refer. but the story if anything gets better. the loss of a key character leaves a massive hole in the story as well as an emptiness for Thorfinn. this was not on accident, the sudden change in tone and pace is meant to mirror Thorfinn's inner struggle. while this arc is a slow burn the payoff is cathartic.

where the story becomes peak!! Either this or volume 7 my favorites in the whole story including the ongoing vinland arc

I love the fact that the story explain the aftermath after Goatskallaad death that was epic I really enjoy it

We move away from the battlefield portion of the story and actually let Thorfinn develop as a character. The plotting slows down a little bit, and there isn't any focus on warfare for now, but its not an unwelcome change. Rather than fighting and destruction, the story now concerns itself with building and growing things. Thorfinn's life gets renewed meaning as he learns to fill the void left after years of living for nothing but revenge and hatred.Previously the story had mainly focused on Askeladd and Canute, while Thorfinn was mainly a static character who did the same things over and over. Both him and Canute have changed drastically and i think its absolutely terrific how Vinland Saga has maintained such a solid pace throughout.
