Just wow...
I have striven to make my crochet items not look 60s or tacky and that is usually a very tough thing to do. This book is the epitome of those goals! For the first time ever, I can envision making each and every item from a handcraft book of any sort.Pros1) The binding! Finally I can say I found a book that has the absolute crafter in mind!2) The patterns are absolute CHIC!3) The designer list is both well known and new, the additions are of the same caliber!4) The descriptions of each and every pattern, it's use, alternative suggestions, alternative constructions, etc all aid the crocheter in making unique and unusual items!5) The layout of patterns is unique, easy to follow, easy to read and easy to find exactly what is needed for each pattern6) The charting/reading of patterns is easy no matter your preference7) Most cases the designer dialogues their thought processes on the pattern they contributed. Makes the process of reading more fun in my opinion.8) Overall the book inspires me to think outside the crochet norm I have apparently unwittingly allowed myself to slip intoNeut1) Mostly an intermediate to expert crochet book BUT I remember when I picked up my first hook... I can so see myself hunched over, concentrating so hard steam comes out my ears, ripping out lines to redo or eliminate mistakes, etc on 4 of the sweaters. They are in no particular order Antonia Peplum, Kelley's Island, Parisian Swing and Qipao Tunic. I am a person daunted by very little though so I embrace challenges and such, beware of that if you are new to crocheting when taking my opinions in.Cons1) I am greedy... not enough of such a good thing!GIVE US MORE! I just wish there was a 6th STAR!

High Fashion for the Intermediate and Advanced Crocheter
If you are an intermediate or advanced crocheter who is looking for some high fashion items to make, this is the book for you.As always, I took the book to my Fiber Fun Group of beginning crocheters. The fashions were a big hit, but since they are mostly beginning crocheters, they felt at this point the projects were too difficult for them to crochet on their own. I definitely agree. However, for an intermediate or advance crochet, the items presented provide an exciting challenge. Contributed by many well-known crochet designers, they offer a great selection of high-fashion items. The instructions are clear and include easy-to-read charts and schematics. My personal favorites are:Antonia Peplum Jacket by Margaret Hubert on page 16, a great looking jacket/sweater.Parisian Swing Coat by Margaret Hubert on page 28, a light weight and stylish coat.Fiesta Shell and Convertible Skirt by Margaret Hubert on page 46, a fabulous outfit with a clever two-skirt option.(Do we notice a trend here? Obviously I like Margaret Hubert's designs!)Catawba Lacy Shrug by Ellen Gormley on page 90, an unusually textured shrug.I'm sure you will find many of your own favorites among the diverse options.

Greatest most useful pattern book I EVER purchased!!!
I love this book. I have made the halter sweater... That came out just like the pattern pic. And now I'm working on the off shoulder dress. If you like fashion or have a woman in your life a scarf just won't do for..try this collection of patterns. There I nothing in n this book you can't make...I didn't like the coat pattern but my 21yr daughter loved it. I wish all my pattern book where this full of great ideas...instead of three good patterns and the rest crapp. I hope you guy came up with a new book. Hopefully with more dresses...winter to summer. I'd really like that.

Some cool patterns!
There are some cool patterns to be found here. Don't be afraid to mix and match designs from this book or use with edgings/patterns you've found elsewhere. I liked some of the designs in here and got some great ideas for different items I'd like to make into something that's a little more custom. Very fun book overall.

Great book!
Although I have not yet made any of the garments or accessories in this book, I'm very pleased with it. The garments are very stylish and more sophisticated than what is in a lot of crochet books out there. I'm also very pleased that the patterns contain detailed stitch diagrams. I'm a crocheter that loves stitch diagrams and am inclined to avoid patterns that don't contain them.

I particularly like the French swing jacket
If you are tired of the same old crochet patterns, this book offers fresh, original patterns. I have already started one project, and look forward to working my way though the rest. I particularly like the French swing jacket. It is so nice to see new, original designs.

Finding the time
This book is a visual and creative feast - I just need to find the time to attempt some of these projects. They all look versatile and easy to understand, you'll have difficulty choosing the one you want to tackle first. Another brilliant book from Margaret Hubert - highly recommended.

Fashion
It's a nice book but a bit too modern for me maybe I'm old fashioned.I will keep it and pass it on to one of my younger friends.
