For this review I am going to have to start off with the cons! When your purchase an item on Amazon that is supposed to be brand new, you don't except it to be a returned item. As you can tell by the photos I was sent what was obviously a returned speaker. It is covered in scratches and had tons of dust and dirt on it! I am not going to bother with a return because I need the speaker now! But the seller might want to make sure they check their products better before shipping them out. I am ok with getting an item that was sent to a previous customer and never used. But this has obviously been used in someone's home or car. Now lets get to the good stuff! I purchased this speaker to install inside my truck to use with my new Radiodcity DB20-G GMRS Radio. I plugged it into the radio and gave it a test and the sound quality was crisp and clear. When adjusting the radio volume up and down the speaker does very well and the sound adjust accordingly. It comes with a long cord that gives you enough length for any type of install. I love the compact size, it does not take up to much room and is able to be mounted under the dash with no problem. And if you have to install on top of the dash it wont take up to much space. This makes an amazing and affordable external speaker for any mobile CB, Ham or GMRS radio. Despite the ware on the speaker I still gave it 5 stars across the board. I think you will be pleased with the way this speaker performs. It is very well built and can handle any ruff roads or abuse thrown it's way. I highly recommend it to everyone. I have used many deferent external speakers before and this one has out performed them all in sound quality, design and durability and you can't beat the price.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Thought this antenna would improve reception on my portable SW, Air, AM, FM radio. It doesn’t do anything! Waste of money. 1 Star is too generous.

Nice concept, very convenient clip for telescopic antenna connected through jack. The one very frustrating thing is how complicated is to roll the wire back into case. The depression for a finger is too shallow, so you need to press more, but that increases plastic resistance and there is a VERY slim window, where finger does not slip from recess. I will solve this by adding a small handle or just modify and print this part, but...

It improves reception quite a bit.

In my experience with this antenna a good signal becomes slightly better and weak signals are still unlistenable. There are so many variables that determine signal strength so Im not going to be overly critical but I wouldn't buy this again for indoor reception. In my own purpose and use the results were very slight and non meaningful.

Not sure if I'm happy with this item. I am wondering if it is strictly for outdoor use, so far I'm not getting anything on the SW bands, and only local stations on the AM/MW band of my Tecsun pl330 shortwave radio! There is excessive interference within my building that has caused problems with the reception on the AM band of my regular radios! Will have to try it outside but trying out my shortwave outside without any external antenna didn't work either! I live in central Alberta, Canada so maybe there aren't any shortwave signals (or very little at the least) in my region? This may be a waste of money! Maybe it depends on how high or where you hook this antenna but so far I've tried hanging it next to my window and that didn't work. Oh well, I'll keep trying otherwise I may return it.
