Excellent Grossness!
I'll say the same thing I did for the ounce of fat. This is soooo gross! But it is so good to see what a pound of fat looks like. At first I compared the more solidness of this to my actual wiggling and very much jiggling fat, but realized that I am jiggling because I am really exercising. Before, my legs were more solid and so were my arms, so that is one reason this pound of fat is more solid. Anyway, it feels gross. It looks gross. And I would buy it again because it is a great reminder of each and every pound lost. I image myself with these taped all over me and it is just yukky. I sometimes just handle it and push on it to remind myself of what my fat looks like.

Help With Behavior Modification
I am using this to inspire better eating habits. When I go to the cabinet to find something to eat, I pick this up instead and wonder if I will be adding or subtracting this from my body. It is making me mindful of the choices and consequences of food consumption.

Good motivator!
For what this is, it is a great teaching and motivational aide. Even though it is a piece of cheap material, this replica of a pound of fat, is a great motivator in both weight and looks. After losing 5 pounds of fat ( not protein) through a high quality protein diet, I can realistically picture what I have lost. It motivates be to stick with it, after seeing the excess weight come off that I have been carrying around.

Not exactly as pictured.
1lb body fat replica supposedly either made or sold by Nasco purchased March 2017. Photo shows what looks like a more rounded replica. What I received is triangular in shape. Description says it is pliable. It is not pliable but you can squish it a little bit but it is primarily hard. It has scratchy areas on it, especially the red areas. I think these red areas may be glued on and that makes those areas more scratchy. I thought this would be squishy and soft to the touch but it is neither. Even so, it is still a good reminder of the fat I need to lose.

This puts body fat into perspective
Brilliant, so life-like and looks as revolting as a pound of human body fat would look. Purchased this for a course on healthy eating and living that I shall be giving (in order to encourage participants to aim for small lifestyle changes and to show them that a gradual weight loss of about 1lb per week would rid them of lumps of fat like this).

for the price acceptable, but not very accurate, especially in means of weight.
Not very accurate. As stated before, indeed the weight doesn't match so it doesen't get the point in comparison to meat. It's also missing the small veins. Additional, there a big edge from the pressing which doesn't look very natural either. The first look on the other hand is quite ralistic.Summary: for the price acceptable, but not very accurate, especially in means of weight.

Not as expected
Bought this after seeing something similar in my doctor's office which was so interesting and fun to touch. I thought it would be motivating and fun to fiddle with while I was on the phone or something (like a cool, fun feeling, jelly-like silicone stress ball). This item is not pleasant to touch and has a "glaze" of sorts over it that peels off and makes it rough. (think of a stale glazed donut where all the glaze is breaking and falling off). All the little blood spots are just sort of sprayed on and part of this glaze. Not sure if mine was defective with all the coating peeling off but I am returning it. I think it is the first thing I have ever returned to amazon. Disappointed.

Lets you visualize what a pound of fat actually looks like.
If you need encouragement to lose a modest amount of weight, this life-like replica can help. I first saw this at a consultation with a registered dietitian, who had replicas of 5 lbs and 1 oz of fat as well.I keep this 1 lb replica in the kitchen, on a high counter at eye level, under a glass dome. It does weigh about a pound, and handling when my motivation flags drives home the fact that the loss of one pound can make a surprising difference, especially if your motivation is about the impact of weight loss on health.Embedded in the replica are what appear to be red fuzzies. These are barely visible in the photo, and there really should be a lot more of them; according to the dietitian, these are intended to show that fat tissue is highly vascularized. This is important because the loss of fatty tissue reduces the load on your heart.
