Three Shattered Souls: An Epic Assassin Romantic Fantasy (The Broken Blades, 3)

This entire series is GRIPPING. The area no dull moments, just adventure and heartache. What an ending to close out a beautiful story hope and the power of believing in something better.

With such an epic series it is hard to create an ending worthy of the journey but this was a great book. I had a few qualms with some of the final choices but overall it was a great conclusion where you have to keep guessing at the true motivations of some of the characters. Plenty of heartbreak to go around and I love that while some of the stories were tied off nicely there are still questions of possibility and potential instead of everything wrapped up in a nice little package. This was a great series from start to finish!

Three Shattered Souls by Mai Corland had me in an absolute chokehold. I read the ENTIRE book in ONE DAY because apparently putting it down was simply not an option. 😂 After Five Broken Blades and Four Ruined Realms, I was already completely invested in these characters, but this book took everything I loved about the series and turned the tension ALL the way up. The shifting POVs, the secrets, the betrayals, the complicated relationships, and never knowing exactly who you can trust kept me flying through the pages. And the way Mai Corland continues to weave everyone’s individual motives together is SO GOOD. Just when I thought I had something figured out, the story gave me another reason to question everybody. This series has officially had me hooked from book to book, and Three Shattered Souls did NOT disappoint. I ate it up, cleared the plate, and went looking for crumbs. 😂 Now what am I supposed to do with myself?! 😩📚

I loved these books more than i should have, and I've spread them out over years. I love that the author paid homage to his culture and how much it enlightened me as well. The storytelling, the emotion, and the pain will hit you right in the guts. I cried, Royo cried, Sora cried, Seok cried 😈, and I can't wait to see where they go next 💓

4.5⭐️ Three Shattered Souls by Mai Coland (The Broken Blades trilogy – Book 3) This book was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I loved Five Broken Blades and Four Ruined Realms, and I’m so happy to say it delivered! The story started strong with a solid plot, great pacing, and a beautifully built world that pulled me in from the very first chapter of Five Broken Blades. Royo, Aeri, Sora, Mikail, and Tiyung have my heart. Each of them brings something special to the story. Their bond as a found family felt so genuine. They cared for each other so deeply, even as lies and secrets constantly threatened to pull them apart. You feel the strength of their connection through every challenge, betrayal, and moment of loyalty. The middle of the book slowed down a little, but it made sense with everything they were going through. And then—wow—the final stretch was an emotional rollercoaster. I felt everything: their pain, heartache, love, grief, and hope. The ending was beautiful and painful. It broke me in the best way. I still have questions, and some things were left open in a way, making me ache to know more about their futures. I understand why the author chose this direction, but ouch, my heart. Also, the audiobook was phenomenal and made the experience even more immersive. This trilogy has officially earned a spot on my list of top favorites. I highly recommend it!

I am wholly unequipped to write a worthy review of this masterpiece. I was holding my breath the entire time, because Mai Corland wrote did such a wonderful job building up this rich world with it's own mythology, history, and complex relationships that she set the bar impossibly high. Somehow, she set the bar even higher. This book is full of emotion - sadness, happiness, anger, longing, anxiety, restlessness. It's got romance, humor, revenge, and everything in between. Loved all the characters, their individual development and their growth as a group. I could not have asked for better. This book not only wraps up the major plot points that have been festering since book 1, but opens the gates for more of this world. Truly, if you enjoyed the first two, this is a MUST read. If you're debating starting the series, do it now! Epic romantasy trilogy. One of my favorite reads ever.

This was my definitive favorite of the trilogy. The title could not be more fitting because by the end, I truly felt shattered. Everything about this conclusion felt earned. The character arcs stayed true to who they were from the beginning, even when the outcomes hurt. Especially when they hurt. Not every ending is happy, and I appreciated that this one didn’t compromise its world or its characters just to soften the blow. There’s something incredibly satisfying about a finale that feels honest. I closed this book emotional but completely fulfilled. I would gladly read a spinoff set in this world and follow what remains, because I’m not ready to let it go.

What a terrific series. I love it when an author makes me care about all the main characters. Those lol moments with Royo and Aeri, Sora's pain and unshakable kindness, Ty's devotion and goodness, Mikail's struggles and piercing mind. I truly cared for each of them. Reading this series is such a ride. I am sad it it over. And that ending! Tragic and heartbreaking. All I can say is, bravo Ms Corland, I am shattered and looking forward to your next novel!

Absolutely loved these from start to finish. The story was captivating and the characters so well described I could almost feel them. Definitely worth reading.

This was such a solid series finish—funny, heartfelt, and absolutely brutal when it wanted to be. I laughed a lot, shed more than a few tears, and was blindsided by the twists more times than I can count. The characters were fantastic, and the story carried so much heart beneath all the scheming and chaos. And that ending? Full-on alligator tears that would not stop. A strong, emotional close to a series that had me hooked from the start.
