HARD TO FOLLOW

The book is very handy to own and will help with work on my two cars.

Could have been a little more directed to the beginner but having said that, still a good tutor.

Very good book to start understanding the electronics of a car. However if you don't know absolutely nothing about electronics, the start is "pretty" brutal and fast. I'm using this book together with Internet to obtain some extra info. Overall I strongly recommend this book!

Great addition to my technical library. Author is a respected automobile electronic authority. Glad to have his expertise, could have gone a little deeper into waveform analysis and examples, but all in all an informative based book to have.

Firstly...Listing this publication as 383 pages is absurd. There are “pages” (many of them) that detail a single component in schematic form. Some of the images are inexplicably cropped off??? Which is a shame because some of the detail is respectable. If you are thinking of purchasing this “book” just realize the page count is grossly misleading with respect to content volume.

This is unquestionably the number one book on car electronics available today. It covers the entire topic from basic electrical knowledge to the operation of the CAN buss and ECU in good enough detail that the reader gains a firm understanding of each topic. Included are basic elements of car electricity, switches and relays, meters, oscilloscopes electronic components, engine management etc. The writing is clear and detailed with lots of excellent diagrams. It includes an index and other supplementary information. The chapter on engine management is particularly well done and puts into a single reference the many complex elements required for a good understanding of the subject.
