Murray 40 Lawn Mower Blade Belt '90-'97 37X62MA

Nothing worse than having to change a belt on a mower in the hot sun, but I had to and the first time I went with a TSC branded belt and the fit was off. The blades were still turning after I disengaged them. The belt wasn't the right size and it ended up breaking after 2 times of mowing my half acre. So I jumped on amazon and found this Factory OEM belt and its been a godsend. Install is a bit of a pain but that is the fault of the mower not the belt. It fits just like the original and disengages when it is supposed to. I am writing this review after only using it 3 times but I will update it again when the time comes to buy another. So if you don't see an update you know from the time of this review til the time you read this is how long the belt has lasted me.

I have a 1998 Murray 38515x92a riding mower which lists part number 037X86 for the "Belt, Mower Blade Drive" (i.e., the belt that drives the mower blades). The 38515x92a has two belts, one to turn the blades and one to turn the wheels so be careful not to confuse the two...the wheel belt for my mower is part number 037X87 "Belt, Motion Drive". Anyway, last year the blade belt had started to slip and pop off the pulleys every now and then so I went ahead and ordered this replacement belt and didn't install it until this year. The belt I received was made in Mexico and is labeled as Murray OEM part number 37X86. Of course, I have no way of verifying that it actually is an OEM part, but it does appear to be a high quality belt and was an exact fit replacement for my old 37X86 belt. It measured out at 38" on a belt measurement slide and was very easy to install. I didn't have to remove the deck. I just disengaged the blade drive pulley, lay on the ground, and worked the old belt off and the new belt on with my bare hands. You will have to "wiggle" the belt to get it between the belt guards and the pulleys, but it doesn't take much effort. It's a ten minute job. The labeling claims that this blade drive belt will fit ALL Murray 38" lawn tractors from 1997 to the present "...with a mower deck lift lever positioned to the left of the seat deck". It is working well on my mower, so five stars.

The belt on my Murray 40" riding lawn mower hadn't been changed since it was purchased some 25 years ago when my grandfather first purchased it, so the original belt was very loose and slipping, so it was time to change. This new 40" belt fit perfectly and was easy to install. Changed the blades while I was at it, and now my lawn mower cuts better than ever. Wish I would have replaced it sooner. Highly recommended.

Good quality belt and had no trouble with it fitting. No slippage or squeals so I'm happy. If any issues come up after using a while I will update this review but other than that a solid purchase.

I had purchased a cheaper belt this, what a mistake that was. This belt fits properly on my Murray 40" mower deck. Highly recommend this belt 👍

Sad when my mower belt broke, couldn't find this size anywhere local. This belt was easy to put on and now my mower seems to run even better. those blades spin a lot faster and smoother now. Grass didn't have a chance against me and my mower!!

Did what I needed it to do. After I was done I put it on my old ass riding lawnmower and did a good quarter acre of that green stuff. It didn't fall off so I'm assuming it's the right belt. If you're running a 40 inch deck this is it.
