Q: Why is the price on this inflated? Up until a few days ago could get it at BB for $39.99

Not too long ago the online retailer Play-Asia reported that Nintendo had ceased production of physical copies of Ocarina of Time 3ds. Soon afterwards several video game websites started reporting the same thing using Play-Asia as their source. Whether this is true or not (Play-Asia seems to be the only one that is claiming this) the common belief is that yes, Ocarina of Time's physical cards are no longer being made and have become collector's items. That's why the price has gone up. If it turns out to be just a rumor then I'm sure the price will drop back down to 39.99, but if not... well, I suppose the digital version is still available for 39.99.

Q: Can you play this game on a 2ds?

Yes, this game and all other 3ds titles are compatible with the 2ds. They are basically the same system, the 2ds just does not have the flip screen.

Q: Is there a 2nd Quest after beating the game once?

After you beat the game you unlock a mode called Master Quest. The story is the same in Master Quest, but the entire world is mirrored, you receive double the amount of damage, item locations & puzzles are different, and enemies are harder & rearranged in different positions. Q: Why is the game suddenly so expensive? At the time of writing this, the game is currently $54. Is the game suddenly rarer, hence the overprice?

I wouldn't think so, but its all about supply and demand the lower the supply the higher the demand for the game. The game itself is a classic with upgraded graphics so a lot of the customers have probably bought the older version on the Nintendo 64 or have played it at one time or another.
