6" x 5' PVC Dust Collection Hose, 6 Inch Dust Collection Hose

I bought this to use with https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FDGSCKR5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title and it is a good fit. The magnetic hose ends allow easy connection to multiple machines without Y adapters, blast gates, or multiple feet of hose. I have about 1/2 the space in my new workshop as my last one offered, so space efficiency is key. This hose is flexible enough to make moving it from machine to machine easy and allow it to be stretched and bent far more than the hose I previously bought from Woodcraft. In spite of this, it does not shrink and compress under vacuum, which I was worried it might. Time will tell whether it will hold up, given the fact that it can easily be dragged around as I intend to do. That said, it looks like it is made of silicone, which is usually pretty durable.

The hose is great - very strong and had no issues fitting over my connectors. Just the right amount of flex, but not overly soft and squishy to the point of collapsing. The real problem is the hose clamps - they are terrible. I had to use pliers just to turn mine and ended up with one full broken and the others took an act of god to get tight. I received another item that came with hose clamps and theirs worked great, so I know they can be good. So, buy this for the hose, but don't be surprised if you have to get your own clamps.

If you need a versatile, high-quality hose that is easy to work with and provides a great seal, this is a solid investment for any dust collection system.

They work great for ferret tubing. I've had them for months now and have washed/flushed them thoroughly with soap and water without rusting. Ferrets have yet to damage them too. I have them inside and outside of their cage. My 3lb boy can speed run through them, though when he backtracks he always just scurrys backwards so I have no idea if he could actually turn around if he really needed (4" is the min for recommended ferret tunnel width). It's just the two of them though so one way will always be clear for him to move. They both love these tubes. Little Barracuda often curls up and sleeps in them and big boy Sturgeon loves to lay on his back and lazily scratch the corrugated insides to enjoy the noise they make/feel of them.

Great hose for the price

***Updated 11/5/24 *** The length of the hose is honestly not a deal breaker it was just disappointing. The biggest issue I currently have with the hose now that I have used it is the static charge build-up from the wood shavings running through the hose. I have it hooked to my central dust collection and a thickness planer. The static buildup and resulting shock it gives you after only 30 seconds of using is almost unbearable. I ended up having to attach a length of wire attached to a fender washer that touches my concrete floor. The static discharge can be seen as it zaps the ground. This helps some....but realistically I don't think this should be used for woodworking dust collection. I am going to have to buy different hose, static resistant hose, because this hose will zap you with a very uncomfortable static shock after only a few seconds of use. Bought a different brand 2-1/2" hose that was advertised as 10' and this 4" hose also listed as 10'. The other brand was a quite a few inches longer than this when fully extended. I measured this and while fully extended it came out to around 110". Also has a smell that I'm guessing will go away over time. The hose does seem to be well built and fits snug over 4" dust collector fittings. The hose clamps that come with the kit are hot garbage and got pitched right away. Overall I dont think I would purchase this brand again.

This is the right type of heavy duty dust collection hose needed for power tools such as a planer where the wood chips come out at high velocity and high volume. I had a lighter gauge hose before that was continuously damaged by the velocity of chips coming out of the planer. I had to regularly patch that hose because of holes made by wood chips. 2 nice stainless steel hose clamps come with the hose. The only negative point has to do with the packaging for shipping. The hose is tightly folded in half in the packaging which deformed the hose somewhat. Having any kinks in the hose puts protrusions inside the hose that make it more vulnerable to damage by the chips coming out of the planer. I deducted 1 star because of the damage caused to the hose by the tight folding. I ended up cutting the hose in half at that point and I may use a coupler to eliminate the irregularity.
