S6 Mini Subwoofer – Compact 210W Powered Bass Speaker

I am running the Audioengine S6 as part of my desktop setup alongside a pair of Kanto ORA desktop speakers. For anyone looking to add high-quality low-end to a compact workspace, the S6 is an absolute masterpiece of engineering. My previous subwoofer struggled with mechanical vibrations. Even when tucked away under the desk, it would physically shake the floorboards and vibrate my desk legs, creating an aggressive, fatiguing "punch" that cluttered the music—especially during quiet morning listening sessions. The Audioengine S6 completely solved this. The first thing you notice about the S6 is its weight; it is an incredibly dense, heavy little tank for its size. That extra mass completely swallows the physical kinetic energy of the driver. Instead of the cabinet shaking my floor, 100% of the energy goes directly into moving the air. The result is a beautifully smooth, tight, and effortless bass response that blends seamlessly with the ORA speakers. Even during quiet, solo acoustic tracks or soft guitar pieces early in the morning, the S6 remains flawlessly clean. There are no narrow frequency humps, no mechanical clutter, and zero electronic noise. It provides the holy grail of desktop audio: a subwoofer that completely disappears both audibly and physically into the room, leaving you with nothing but pure, accurate music. I had an old but sturdy 10" subwoofer that could really shake the floor. But I live in a small condo and it took up too much room and it was hard to enjoy without forcing the people next door from having to feel it too. When I first got this S6, I was admittedly feeling a bit disappointed. But over time, and after a lot of testing with it off, it's absolutely perfect for its recommended use. I have some JBL "bookshelf" speakers with 6 inch drivers that put out reasonable bass by themselves, but this definitely fills in some lower frequency and gives the clear sense of presence, weigth and bass...without making me worry as much about offending the neighbors. It is also much tighter, much "punchier" and more precise than my old sub. I've now had it for 6 months and am glad I made the switch. Movies hit plenty hard, dubstep tracks are tight and full. It's clearly not expected to be the ultimate heart-stopper, but it does its job filling in the bottom enough to get by, without shaking the pictures off the walls next door. Exactly what I needed! I also love how small it is, and in white it's just a pleasant little thing in the living room that pays its rent every day. Solid build, good looks, and well worth the money.

The build quality is solid, setup was plug-and-play simple, and its small footprint is a huge plus. If you want to add serious, clean low-end to a bookshelf or computer system without overwhelming your space, the S6 is a fantastic investment. Zero regrets—just great bass!

Really a nice unit to compliment smaller speakers. Plug and Play and plenty powerful. Dial crossover is perfect for fine tuning.

Good cleat bass and unit has great adjustments to tune the unit. Definitely would recommend.

The item arrived unscathed and was double-boxed for safety, and enclosed in a cloth wrapper for an extra oh-my moment. This sealed subwoofer is small in size but provides ample bass for our family room, which is approximately 12x17. Given its sealed design, positioning was easy, placement was forgiving, and hook-up was swift. A well-made solid product that does what it says it will do.

I am actually listening to my subwoofer now and it sounds excellent. It serves double duty as part of my turntable stereo system and my home entertainment center. The subwoofer is the perfect solution to a difficult problem. I live in an apartment and have limited space. It fits perfectly in my small space and allows me to enjoy incredible sound. It may be small but it packs a punch that brings my music to life

Given the size of the cone, I would expect much more impact. That said, it is a front firing cone without a port, so it was my error to expect an impactful bass response. Quality: the sound is clear and and the separation is noticeable. For a small room, this is a nice option if you value clarity over oomph. I did have trouble with positioning it to avoid phase cancellation with the A2s (even with the phase switch). The color and finish is weird given what the other AE speakers look like. Given the price, I think it's a mediocre value. Ended up returning.

I'm using with Audio Engine A2+ connected to a PC/DAC. The sound is quite nice. It blends in well. Small size makes it easy to place. The only thing I'm not completely happy with is that the trigger volume for "auto on" is quite loud. I e I have to really crank up the A2+ to "wake" the sub. I'm not too happy about having it always on or have to manually turn it on.

La combinación de este subwoofer con las A2+ es obligatorio si quieres disfrutar la musica con graves más profundos y si tu presupuesto te lo permite, no lo pienses mucho. Con la MacBook (Air M4) controlo el volumen al gusto y al 50 % ya se escucha muy potente e impactante, realmente sorprendente para algo tan pequeño. Ajuste el crossover aproximadamente a 80 Hz y el volumen entre el 25 y 30 % mientras el volumen de las bocinas A2+ las ajuste al 75 %

I mostly listen EDM and that thing brings the sound of my Audioengine A2+ to a whole new level. I had to put some foam under the printer sitting next to it to avoid vibrations noise.
