suits me perfectly
These NB shoes have a wide toe box--I have very wide, rectangular shaped feet and I love the wiggle room I get with these shoes. They have a good strike through that goes all the way to the heel and a roll bar. The heel is narrow and heavily supported. The heel is a little heavy, but not as heavy as some NB's. The forefront is flexible enough for easy walking. The insoles are really nice; they're normally thin little crappy things, but these are thick and gel like, very comfortable and gives nice support, esp in the forefront. If I can find some arch support inserts, I'll actually use them instead of tossing them. I also like the thin nylon mesh on the top; less sweat.unfortunately, I'll have to get them from Zappos from now on because they do free returns.

They fit my wide foot in front but hug my regular size heel.
Very comfortable especially if you have a wide foot in front. Wish I could find them again. Great for walking and gives good support. I have had two pairs and they hang in for at least a year. They came in 5.5 wide which is not easy to find.

Nice looking!
I loved these! I had to return them because they were a bit too short for my foot. I should have sized up! I wanted them to fit! They really are a nice sneaker.

Shoes
Absolutely love the support and comfort these shoes offer. Sadly New Balance will discontinue these and move on to something else.

2nd pair didn't fit the same.
This is the 2nd pair I purchased. 1st pair was fine. Got these to alternate. I broke both ankles in February and PT and surgeon both recommended these shoes. They are very sturdy and I feel more stable in them. I have custom orthodics and they fit in 1st pair. 2nd pair was identical except for color. Inserts won't fit. And when I try to wear them without inserts my right big toe feels like it has no room and is all red and sore. They measure the same as the others at least from the outside. I tried them on but didn't actually wear them til it was too late. Since 1st pair was fine if you get these wear them right away to make sure there's nothing wrong on the inside. I do recommended them for stability. I have a metal plate and 11 screws in my right ankle and the 1st pair make me feel safer to walk. I recommend them with the stipulation you check the inside for anything rubbing.

Perfect walking shoes for 40+
Purchased these shoes for my mom. Age 73. Many Pros- They have a wide toe box, even for a regular woman’s size B shoe. Also for anyone struggling with hammer toes you can see the shoes offer a soft mesh top to eliminate any pressure on those pour joints. One of the main reasons I liked this shoe vs other walking styles or brands- is the Rollbar heel support. My mom doesn’t have the greatest knees, like most older folk- but this feature helps stabilize her walking. She hasn’t had any knee pain after wearing these shoes. The only Con I can think of (and this happens with almost every shoe- Sizing.) is the sizes run a bit small. She’s a 9.5 and we ordered a 10. Fit like a glove then.

Stable like strapping on a board to your foot
Rollbar tech is strong with this shoe. Very supportive. In the never ending quest to find a 1123 true replacement...this is not it. I can tolerate these on for 20 minutes then my foot goes numb. Fit is correct, but these are worse misery then 1540's to my feet. Which is a shame, these are very pretty. but its like strapping a board to my feet and lacing it on tight, there is zero give anywhere, walking is slapping your foot down flat and push off is the same pick up and stomp like a angry toddler storming around. They are super supportive, and rollbar tech is great for my feet. Fit was absolutely perfect, everything I expect from New Balance to be absolutely true to size, well constructed, not overly heavy but not lightweight either...substantial. Very nice toe-box space my toes were not squished feeling.you have tall feet(from sole to top of foot) you will not be getting an insole in there, even with me pulling the laces out as far as possible it still pressed on the top of my foot, which is why I suspect my foot goes numb in 20 minutes, it cuts off circulation.Give them a try, maybe they'll be for you, they aren't for me, but everyone's feet are different.
