R600 24v HVAC Air Purifier UV Light Coil Cleaner Germicidal 14" 18W UVC for AC Air Conditioning with Magnet

Took about 90 min to install 2 of these over my N coil Rheem. Had some mold issues (S Florida) so adding these after the coil was pulled and cabinet was professionally cleaned. AC company wanted $525 to install one and for $180 I have two for more complete coverage and a dedicated 24V transformer. Like the viewport to confirm lights are working. Hope these keep the cool clean and air fresher. Replacement bulbs are about $50/each so worth a shot for $100/year. Magnet mounted the vertical bulb and used a rivet to attach the other to the front brace of the air handler.

Going strong almost 2 years in. I'm going to have to replace the bulb soon because they naturally degrade over time. It's keeping my coil clean by killing the mold and bacteria that naturally grow in dark and wet places. Evap coils that sweat in the summer are a prime breeding ground. I work in HVAC distribution, and I bought this one because the price was half on what I can get one for even with my connections. Great Product!!

Easy to install great value

It took a little bit of engineering to make it what I needed for my set up, since it isn’t standard, like most air-conditioning systems are. I did follow the advice from one other review to block the light from shining onto my filter. He used PVC, I used what I think might have been an old aluminum tent pole I found in my barn that I cut in half with my bandsaw, then secured around each end of the bulb with a zip tie. I can absolutely tell the difference in air quality, so I am so thankful for this product availability!

Giving it 4 stars because I returned it for personal reasons. I intended to install this near my A-coil to help with the bacteria and mold spores (recommended by an HVAC tech, yeah, I know). Bought the item, watched a few videos from YouTube University, and decided that it's not best for me at this time due to my busy work schedule, which requires consistent and last minute travelling. I think it would do it's job, but make sure that if you are going to DIY, please follow safety precautions and proper placement as it could cost you more in the long run.
