Same Ball quality with all measurements on jar.
Same wide mouth as wide mouth quart jars, so all lids are interchangeable. Good for soaking larger quantities of beans, nuts and seeds, etc or dry storage for all.

Canning jars
These are canning jars. Nothing special. I would order again.

Itโs Ball
What is there to say? I decided to use Ball canning jars to store food in rather than plastic containers and bags. For fruits and vegetables I put them in a wide mouth jar, unwashed and vacuum seal. The strawberries lasted the whole week! Nothing went bad unless I didnโt eat it. No more snap lids that have plastic lids to their glass bottoms. They even saved me room in the refrigerator.

Great jars, but only four of the six made it through shipping in one piece!
The four jars that arrived in one piece are great. Two jars out of the six were broken into pieces. The box they were shipped in had no damage at all, and each jar was individually wrapped well in bubble wrap. All I can think of is they had a rough trip through the postal system. I only needed a few of this size jar, so ending up with four out of six is OK. But just a heads up about the shipping.

Good, but not for canning
I bought a dozen of these jars last summer. I've always had trouble sealing wide-mouth canning jars, and thought making them larger would only make that worse; I wanted them instead to serve as pitchers. I keep tea and cold drinks and homemade soy milk in them in the refrigerator. After a few months, one began leaking. I could never spot the source of the leak but the jar always left a ring behind it. I stopped using that one. The rest were fine. But just this morning, the whole bottom of another came off! I didn't expect anything like that from a Ball jar. We'll, I'll continue to use them and, if I find that I need more than the 10 remaining -- it's a borderline question -- I'll buy some more. But I would not advise using these for canning. Stick to the quart jars.

Excellent jars for food storage
We use these jars to store dry goods that we purchase in bulk, such as beans and rice. We use a jar sealer to put a vacuum seal on the lids and the combination works really well. The food is protected from mice or insects, it stays fresh, and the clear glass allows us to see what is in each container. They also work well for storing breakfast cereal. We never have stale Raisin Bran anymore!

You can't get better storage jars than the Ball brand, nice thick glass, sturdy and easy to clean even with my large hands, I keep these on hand for emergency storage.
