A Sleek Solution for Kitchen Organization
I recently picked up the Cook N Home Bamboo Knife Storage Block, and it's been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. This 20-slot universal knife holder is not just a functional tool for storing knives; it's a stylish and practical piece that enhances the overall look and organization of my countertop. The capacity of this knife block is impressive. With 20 slots, it offers ample space for a variety of knives, from small paring knives to larger chef's knives and even scissors or a sharpening rod. This versatility is a significant advantage, as it allows me to keep all my essential cutting tools in one convenient location, neatly organized and easily accessible. The bamboo construction of the knife block is a standout feature. Not only is bamboo a sustainable and eco-friendly material, but it also brings a natural, elegant aesthetic to my kitchen. The block is sturdy and well-crafted, with a smooth finish that feels premium and looks great on the countertop. One of the aspects I appreciate most about this knife block is its universal design. Unlike some knife blocks that are tailored to specific sets, this one accommodates a wide range of knife brands and sizes. This flexibility is ideal, as it allows me to use knives I've collected over the years, regardless of their brand or shape. The Cook N Home Bamboo Knife Block is also incredibly easy to clean and maintain. The bamboo doesn't easily stain or retain odors, ensuring that it stays hygienic and presentable over time. The simplicity of wiping it down with a damp cloth is a convenience I value. The size and footprint of the block are well-balanced. It's large enough to hold a substantial number of knives but doesn't take up excessive space on my countertop. This efficient use of space is crucial in my kitchen, where counter real estate is valuable.TL;DR: The Cook N Home Bamboo Knife Storage Block is a superb choice for anyone looking to organize and store their knives in style. Its large capacity, sustainable bamboo construction, universal design, and ease of maintenance make it an essential addition to any kitchen. It's a practical, elegant, and eco-friendly solution for keeping knives neatly organized and easily accessible.

A very nice solid wood product that holds a ton of knives!
This product is made from 100% real Bamboo. Even though I read through the negative reviews from people who have no idea what they are talking about I decided to buy one.Bamboo grows as a hollow round tube. It is sliced into slats that are approximately 1/8" wide and can be as long as the Bamboo stalk is (generally about 12").Once you have a stack of these slats they are then glued together to make boards, planks or in this case a block. Bamboo can be glued together either vertically or horizontally each of these two techniques will give the end product a completely different look. (Vertical grained glue ups have very little grain and present a very linear appearance, meanwhile Horizontal glue ups show much more grain and that little Bamboo detail (little ziggly lines) that we all recognize as bamboo). This particular product is made by gluing the Bamboo vertically. You can clearly see this in the product as it appears to be made up of tiny strips. Some people are mistakenly stating that the product is made from veneer. This is false as veneer is paper thin sheets of wood. Hardwood trees can be cut into boards or planks as they are solid inside. The cutting mill simply decides what cuts are the most efficient (get the most linear feet out of that particular tree) and then a trunk is milled or re-sawed to make the boards. This of course can n ot be done with Bamboo as it is once again hollow in the middle. So let's look at the actual product.Size9" at the tallest point10" long (across the bottom)4 7/8" wideSlots3.5" at the top of unit2x 2" wide on left2x 1 1/2" on the right1 1/2" on left1 1/4" on the right2x 1" towards the bottom1 1/4" by 1/2" slot for scissors8x steak knife slots are approx. 7/8" wideAll slots go all the way through the block and are open at the bottom.WorkmanshipVery good overall, I did notice that a few slots have some rough spots where the slot was machined but they did not take the time to sand it down properly. Not a big deal does not effect its ability to hold knives.OverallI am giving the product 5 stars. The main reason is value. A solid wood block that is well built and costs under $20!Yes better blocks are available but cost much more. As a side note to those people who complain that their knives don't fit, that's not the blocks fault, it's theirs for not measuring before buying. This for me was a very good purchase at a ridiculously great deal. (Under $20 with Prime shipping).

Good for the price
1.) Overall Quality: It’s not the highest quality, but it looks decent and does the job.2.) Condition Upon Arrival: It arrived with a long scratch on one side, but seeing as things in my kitchen tend to get a little beat up, it wasn’t worth returning just for that. It also had some places where there were machining chips still clinging onto the knife block, but again that wasn’t something worth returning it for.3.) Function: It fits my set of knives nicely, and it’s heavy enough to offset their handle weights. I have a set of Berghoff knives that have some pretty hefty and heavy handles (though they have great balance). I was previously using two universal knife blocks, the universal kind with the plastic fibers to fit any shape or size knives, but they kept tipping over because of the combined handle weight of my knives. This knife block isn’t even close to tipping over, there’s plenty of room for all my knives (I could even put all my steak knives in if I rearranged it some more), and it looks nice, scratch and all.4.) Final verdict: it’s not super fancy, damage-free, or compact. But for the price it is sturdy, holds a lot of different sized knives, is heavy enough to counterbalance heavy handles knives, and it still has a nice appearance. Worth the price, although it may arrive with some damage.

so many slots!
love the many slots in such a compact space. most of my knives are now within reach while working at the counter. a very reasonable price for a block. not a solid piece of wood like a wickedly more expensive brand, but it looks sharp (see what i did there? LOL) in the kitchen and full of knives, no one is going to pick it up and turn it upside down to check anyway. holds a wide variety of shapes and sizes.

good deal, nice stain, with cleaver slot
its not the exact block i want, but its workable and its the cheapest one. i have wide knives, including 2 vegetable cleavers. the top wide slot on the block meant for a cleaver is not wide enough for my 3.5 inch Togiharu Chinese Cleaver. i intend to take a saw to remove the separation between the pair of lower slots for my big cleaver. my small 3" cleaver fits fine on the top slot (approx 3.3 inches). and my thin 10 inch slicer also fits on the other side of the top..the block looks fine, lots of butcher block looking grain, maybe a little particleboard, but considering the price, its perfect. nice dark stain. everything lines up. clean and neat. rubber buttons on bottom. knife slots go all the way thru. 27 bux is cheap considering that it even has a slot for a 3" cleaver although does not fit my 3.5 inch Togiharu Chinese Cleaver ... yet.i am giving it five stars because it has a slot for a cleaver, it's cheap, and looks good. now all i need is a better saw.

Holds a lot of knives! Good quality!
We had two knife sets where we use certain knives out of both sets. Some of those knives in one set are long. This block holds almost all of the knives from both sets. Definitely the ones we use and the longer ones as well. Good quality and nice color.

Solid bamboo (laminate), well built, deep slots.
There seems to be a question of this block's constuction: is it solid bamboo or is it a veneer? The answer is "both."Bamboo, a hollow, cylindrical plant with long, longitudinal fibers, does not grow with a 6" x 6" cross section, such as would be necessary to build this block. Instead, pieces of bamboo are glued and pressed together to make the block. Then, to make a uniform and attractive pattern, the top layer of the block is covered with thick, milled-together pieces of bamboo. Also, I took a couple of pictures of my longest knife and honing steel, which tested the deepest slots in the block. My honing steel is a a Wusthof 10". In the photo, you can see it is contained inside its slot by about 1mm. Any longer, and it would protrude out the back.I also placed a Wusthof Ikon 9" bread knife in the deepest knife slot (except for the cleaver slot), and it fit perfectly there. But, I wouldn't recommend going any longer than 9"; even 1" longer and I think the knife would poke out.All in all, it is a solid, attractive knife block with a lot of deep slots, at a great price.

Gostei muito
Muito legal, prático e bonito. Embora seja de bambu é muito resistente e sólido.Tive que apenas fazer uma adaptação para minhas facas de churrasco que são mais largas mas mesmo assim merece as 5 estrelas.

Quality block for a decent price
Sturdy, looks great, and fits every knife I have. A good variety of slot widths and one slot you could use for a honing steel, instead of a knife. Altogether a great purchase.
