Performs better than claims
This little product will froth your milk in about 5 seconds, without mess or fuss, seriously, if you follow the extremely simple, foolproof directions. I was quite surprised at the quick action and impressed at the efficiency of this little unit. The case is solid, feels quality made and it's very stable sitting on the coffee bar in the provided bracket and looks quite nice. It also packs into luggage quickly - it's surprising how a bit of beaten milk will make even questionable coffee better. The actual beater is a sturdy, semi-flexible little wand perfect for dealing with liquids on a small scale, quickly - anything much thicker or bigger and you'd end up with a large ball of suds exploding out of your pitcher. Getting that microfoam style takes a little fiddling and experimentation - I found that keeping the wand deep, rounding it around the cup, then removing the Aerolatte (uh, stopping it first, apparently that's not a given with some of these reviews here) and then slamming the pitcher onto the counter a few times (which is how they do it at local coffee shops) results in a 'settled' foam and one that is creamier with smaller bubbles. You can also swirl as you pour into your espresso which compresses the foam and gives it that micro feel. If you like the Starbucks soap suds style, run the wand a little higher in the milk, then after you're done, place a knife against the pitcher, pour your milk, then spoon the foam atop. This works as well for a cappuccino. Be sure you use warm or hot milk. Use a deeper cup, pitcher or tumbler, as per directions. "Milkshakes" mean something a little different overseas than it does here - it's very cold milk beaten up with flavouring into a rich mixture, sort of like a light, foamy smoothy, not the actual ice cream beaten up, so the use pattern is different for that. It won't beat big hunks of ice cream or anything. While the milk heats in the microwave I pull my shots, then whiz the milk, which takes a next to no time, put it all together, and there it is. Several times a day. Oh yeah - no kid gloves; just, you know, just use your head. :-p

10 years and still frothing well
Bought this in May 2105 for light kitchen tasks, including milk frothing and dissolving protein shakes. It has been quite reliable over a 10-year run and still going. I only wish it were a tad stronger, to be able to better whisk up a single egg. Battery life is reasonable. Sometimes when I replace batteries, it does not want to start; so I remove/replace batteries and it’s good to go. Don’t know why that is, since I check polarity carefully before inserting…just a quirk that I’ve adapted to. Very easy to clean and small enough to sit by dish-rack to grab quickly. Very pleased overall.

Unreliable
ADDED as edit: After some back and forth, the customer rep (Laura) agreed to send me two replacements. Again, these worked perfectly well and then suddenly (after about a year), they became unreliable, sometimes working, sometimes not, even after batteries are replaced. So not sure what the problem was. I believe something went loose inside and the requisite contacts weren't working (inside). The products have a two year warranty, btw. Bought two of these last year for myself and my daughter. Of course it's easy to love but wait a year, it will stop working. This year both stopped working or worked intermittently even though I used brand new batteries. I contacted the manufacturer and they said I wasn’t using the product correctly. It’s not a complex product. I use it to froth milk for coffee. Pour about one inch of milk into cup. Whisk it. The whisk is never filled to the rim or eveb halfway with milk. It whisks one inch of milk. I wash it after and let it dry. Nothing to misuse. The warranty is supposedly two years but they won’t honor it due to “misuse.” Before I got their reply (took a long time since they asked me to upload a photo of both frothers laid side by side and since my kid lives in a different location, I had to wait for her to bring hers), I had bought two new ones. That was in November. One of them, two months later, has stopped working.

Stopped working after few uses and cheap build

Item required battery change every 2 months, and stopped working altogether after 6 months. Really waste of money.

I was looking to expand my arsenal of tools for my home bar and came across this frother here on amazon. I've got to say - what a tool for such a price. It even came with a nice stand in stainless steel. The tool itself functions perfectly, it makes good milkshakes, froths hot milk for lattes easily and also helps bring texture into drinks when you use it with eggwhite. It is not fragile at all, I've hit the sides and bottom of the glass repeatedly with the tip and it neither bent nor stopped spinning, it still functions perfectly to this day (with the same batteries that came included with it!). Stainless steel is easy to fit into your kitchen or bar as it compliments most styles. There is a nice detail of aerolatte being written on both the stand and the tool in the same side, it is very very stylish.
