Honey Oak Finish Large Bamboo Wooden Bread Box and Storage Container Box with Rattan Lid - 16" x 10.5" x 9"

This bread box is one of the best puchases I've ever made! I had been wanting one for quite some time, but had nowhere to put it, as I don't have much counter space. But I finally realized that I could put it right on top of my microwave oven. I was sure to read the measurements first, and it fits perfectly, with a little room left on each side. I can store a loaf of bread, and one or two packages of cookies, bagels, or English muffins, depending on the size and shape of the packages. I have freed up a lot of room in my cupboard, and added a lot of style to my kitchen, as this bread box is beautiful! My kitchen table is also honey oak, and the bread box matches perfectly. The wood is nice, and door pulls down easily. Plus, there's room on the top for other items--I put a set of Apple Coasters on top that I ordered from Amazon, and it all came together really well. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

When I received this box it has a minute imperfection on top. Color is as it appears, exactly as I had expected. Not orangey at all, as I have read in another review. I almost bought a bread box at Walmart. They only offer one, and it is really thin "tin" like flimsy material and it was $18.99. My husband suggested I wait and get the wood one that I really wanted. I am so glad I listened to him, as I am very happy with this bread box.I would recommend it. * It does not have a handle protruding so for constant use with kids, I do not recommend it. It takes care when opening , so you don't let the door fall on the counter. But we have 4 cats, and the kitten would sneak up on the counter and tear into our bread. So this solved that problem. This is the second Mountain woods bread box I've ordered-the other was the acacia wood product. The hand crafting is beautiful, and melds well with decor ranging from rustic to modern due to the simple, clean lines and understated embellishment. I use one for 'sweet' items like muffins, cinnamon bread, etc., and the other for more pungent items like cheese bread and onion/garlic bagels. It is roomy enough to hold both a large loaf of miche style bread plus 6 bagels in one, and another loaf of large bread and 4 large muffins in another at one time. The hinges/fittings are sturdy, and the wood is a solid, substantial construction. The footprint fits easily on our counter with plenty of room left for workspace-and we use the top 'shelf' area for things such as salt/pepper shakers, sugar bowl, etc. to further maximize space and function. This was a really good buy for a beautiful product that is both functional, natural, and easy to clean!

generally pleased but wish it had a handle. Size is very adequate for us but I can see that for a big family you might want something bigger to handle the long loaves. I used to have a neat box shaped like this one but a little bigger. What I liked about that model was that it had a glass window on the front lid that was decorative as well as functional

I have had my bread out on the counter previously, which is unsightly but I was worried about it getting moldy or stale faster in the pantry. It's also hard to find something that matches oak cabinets these days. I would not say there is room for 2 full loaves of bread unless they are small, but definitely roomy enough for what I needed.

This is the sweetest Breadbox! I have antique furniture - mostly oak. This box feels like "home". It is a good size...not too big or small;easy to open and shut, and has a handy border around the top for more items or decoration. I was leary about size and finish, but am fully pleased. It is a true honey oak, and fits nicely in a corner on my kitchen cupboard. The rattan looks classy, not cheap. If you want a useful, attractive, addition to your kitchen which declutters and helps organize plus is pretty, you will likely smile when you open and place this on your counter. 5 stars Mountain Wood!

This is made of very good quality wood - it's cute and I was so happy when I first opened the box. However, once I put it on my countertop - I realized it was too small. Basically you can just get a loaf of bread inside. That's it. I had one previously that was 30 years old. It was much larger - could get 3 or 4 loaves of bread and even a package of cookies. Even though this breadbox was cute and well-made I decided to return it. Problem is I spend more on shipping to get this thing and again on shipping to return it - than it cost to begin with ($18 shipping each way - slowest method possible). To make matters worse, the vendor didn't refund my money until I filed an A-Z claim with Amazon. They said they didn't have proof I had returned it - even though I followed all the proper Amazon processes and even put the duplicate copy INSIDE the box. They finally refunded my money - but it was a painful and wasteful process.

When I was looking for bread boxes online I had a few features that I wanted with the one I picked. The first one was that I wanted a box that was big enough to hold at least 2 different kinds of breads at a time. This box does hold that and depending upon the size of the loaves more too. I also wanted one that was not a roll top. The reason for this is that after some time has passed the roll tops tend to stick or get caught. This product help eliminate that because the door folds down, only possible down side is that the door doesn't slide under the box while having it open. Bonus feature is the shelf on the top of the box, which can be a added feature for items such as english muffins and what not. I would definately recommend. Oh, also seems like it is a great design and well constructed.
