Easy to use and works great
I bought this product several weeks ago and it works exactly as advertised. Make sure you read the directions so you know how to use it to its full potential. I like the fact that it can be used as a thermometer and a timer. This product gives you the option to choose either your meat and doneness level as well as setting your own custom temperature level for what you are trying to cook. I only found out how to do that by reading the directions thoroughly. Since there are no words on the screen you need to look at the directions to understand what the letters and symbols on the touchscreen do in each different mode. The unit comes with two probes which is great because you now have a back up and most of the units I have purchased previously the probes are usually the issue. The probes come with a long cord which allows you to keep the monitor a little bit further away from the direct heat source. The display on this unit is clear and easy to read with large numbers and changing colors. Don’t be fooled by the inexpensive price this product seems to be a quality unit for a home cook.

Great Probe Thermometer
I decided to make a Standing Rib Roast for our Christmas Dinner this year - I watched numerous videos and googled numerous recipes looking for the perfect recipe!!! The one thing in common in all the videos and recipes was the use of a probe thermometer to monitor the internal temperature of the roast. I did not have a probe thermometer so Amazon to my rescue!!!! Found this one with excellent reviews, ordered it and it came three days before Christmas!!! Easy to use and did an excellent job - the Standing Rib Roast was amazing!!!!

Compact design makes it easy to store between uses.
I like the presets for different meats and temps for cooking. However, you don't have any option for making anything but a well done burger. Your only work around is to make a custom setting but you cannot save it for the future. Same thing for fish; it only permits a setting for well done. I would like the back light to remain on for longer. There might be a way to enter a settings feature but there weren't any instructions how to do it.Other than those minor complaints, the unit seems to function accurately and has a clean interface.

Accurate and convenient
Absolute game changer, I cannot believe the price for something that changes cooking and gets all meat to the right temp exactly the way you want it. It is extremely accurate and I have had it for years and it is still going strong.

Good Value for Money
The thermometer is a very easy to use (though needs minimum Skil to work with touch screen).Comes with short and clear user instruction.2 AAA batteries are NOT included.Generally it is good quality.Touch screen Display is large and clear. It has Celsius / Fahrenheit option. You can use it also as timer for up to 99 min.You could either use the built in table stand or the magnets for your frigidaireBottom line: good price per value

Durability Issue
I bought this meat thermometer in Feb. 2020 and it’s been a less than 6 months and one of the sensor stopped working. Fortunately it did come with two(2) sensors. I do like to BBQ and grill. I would say in average, I used the thermometer maybe once week or so. I could not have used this thermometer more than 50 times. We’ll see how long does the 2nd sensor lasts. If it gives away like the 1st one within 6 months, I probably won’t buy this particular product again and look elsewhere to buy a different meat thermometer. While it was working, this is a decent thermometer; touch screen to change the temperature settings was a bit slow to respond, but it was accurate and easy to use. I realize that I paid barely over $10 for this product, but I wish that the sensor last over 6 months or so. Definitely durability is an issue for this thermometer. So you get what you paid for.

Tired of analog and instant read?
Most analog meat thermometers are inaccurate and fail after a few uses. Instant read digital thermometers have one glaring flaw, you have to open the oven door to check the temperature and let the heat out and ruin any temperature control. It takes a minute to get the right temp. Susceptible to errors. So the answer? This probe thermometer. Stick the probe into the proper part of the meat and set it and wait for the alarm to go off so you can take it out. Are you willing to risk a Prime rib Roast on analog? Here is the con and not the devices fault. They use USDA temperatures for doneness. So medium rare is 145 if you use the default for beef. But most steak affeciandos will tell you that 130-135 is ideal for medium rare. So set it to rare or use the “custom” feature to set it to your preferences. Just cooked a roast and it came out perfect!Bonus is you get an extra probe. Those that took stars off because it isn’t a dual read thermometer should have read the description and not downgrade it because you didn’t read it properly. This is a handy device and if it lasts a great addition. It does have warranty.
