Extremely impressed
Out of the box, the product was very well packaged and felt heavy (high quality plastic material with metal parts). No instructions came with it but if you do not know how to remove the 2 trigger bolts, and the trigger assembly, you should allow for a professional to install (or do it yourself, it is not hard if you want to learn). Installation was a breeze. The only point of failure I can predict would be the 4 screws (2 on each side) holding the new trigger pins together. They are very thin and fairly short so keep an eye on it. The product looked amazing, truly modernizing my 30 year old 870. I appreciate the top rail is elevated, allowing you to use the front sight on the barrel. I mounted a micro T-1 red dot onto the rail, and the height felt comfortable for me. The mount sat flush with the top of the shotgun. No gaps, or weird spaces or wiggly parts. Moving it back and forth produced no audible sounds. All in all, extremely impressed, especially for the cheap price tag, I highly recommend!!

Good product, two people recommended for instilation
Fits perfectly on my Remington 870 shotgun you do have to persuade it so the pins will line up the holes on the actual mount itself, but by doing it that way it keeps it nice and snug and hopefully it should keep zero very well I have not tested it out yet with a red dot. I do appreciate that you can still use the bead sight.

Completely unusable.
Defective product, didn't come in spec AT ALL. The holes aligned with the rear pins, but no where near close to the front pins. I tried to make it work by sanding some material, light hammering, but nothing worked at all. Very horrible piece of equipment you wouldn't want to put on something you care about. Buy literally anything else. This WILL not work with your 870.

Well worth the money.
Read another review about a guy that said he could get the rear pin holes to line up but the front ones were way off and to not buy it because it will not fit an 870. I had the same problem but decided I wouldn't be defeated. I "opened up" the interior of the mount with a Dremel so it could sit lower on the receiver. It works flawlessly now and you can't even tell that I did surgery on it. Overall, this is a great mount and well worth the money.

Great product.
Went on easy. I saw reviews about scratches but I did not have this issues. It fit snuggly. Holds my red dot where I want and seems to keep zero. Good value for the money. Shell holder holds shells firmly.

High-quality rail/shell holder for Remington 870 - with one installation glitch
This is a good option for mounting an optic on a Remington 870 shotgun. It also has the benefit of a 6 round shell holder on the left side of the receiver. Very convenient. Construction is high-quality aluminum. Once mounted, this rail fits very snugly with no detectable wiggle or flex. Note that you may need to sand down the replacement threaded receiver pins to remove the paint/powdercoat in order for them to fit into the holes in the receiver plate properly. I also beveled the edge of the pins so they would guide into the holes more easily. All of this was necessary in my case to avoid forcing the pins into the holes and possibly damaging the receiver.

Does not fit 870 without modification
For starters the allen screws installed from factory were so tight one head stripped out right away, had to find a torx bit that fit snug enough to turn it out, fortunatley there was one spare screw included. As others have noted the screw holes do not line up with the trigger pin holes, the mount itself rides too hard on top of the receiver, i tried filing bottom side of mount but it was gonna require too much material removal so instead i ovaled out the four screw holes only to find now the screw heads would not seat in the counter sunk recess, I will be throwing this in the garbage as Ive already modified it in an attempt to fit, my advice spend the money on a Mesa Tactical mount, I have one on another 870 and its expensive but absolutley perfect fit
