great quality better price
fits my 18v lxt makita impact well, i prefer to use the 2ah batteries and have the first generation of brushless impact that's still going strong. works great and has just enough pockets for my right angle attachment and a few other supporting bits and bobs, sits well on the hip/thigh and the retention is easy to actuate without looking or thinking. time will tell as to overall durability but it feels good on the belt and the stitching seems high quality and the weight distribution and retention strap make the driver feel secure

Other holster makers, take note
Other brands could really learn from CLC's impact/drill holster. I've tried so many other holsters and this one ended my search. It's by far the most functional system I've used. At first I didn't know what the velcro attached to the securing line was for. It's a simple and genius idea, in the event your tool should begin slipping out of the holster, the tool will pull up on the yellow line and stick to the velcro attached on the housing allowing it to be securely held, it also enables your tool from shifting and moving around during motion such as walking. The holster is being used with both my Milwaukee M12 Fuel impact driver as well as the drill. The elastic bands are extremely tight and hold any size drill bit in spades. I have to adjust to this holster as with other products I've used never held any drill/impact attachments properly, philips, shanks, bits were always falling out so I'm constantly looking down to my side to see if that's the case with this one, I'm happy to report that they hardly even move at all. Best part of this holster is the way the belt loop is positioned. Attached to the belt, the drill sits properly at 90 degrees and does not move forward and backwards as you walk, it just sits firmly straight up against your hip with almost no play. I'm having trouble finding anything wrong with the design of this holster, everything about it is superb. I don't see how something of this quality is offered at the price listed.

Almost perfect
I ordered this sight unseen hoping for my ideal drill holster, and it works well, but not the best option for me. I looked at the dewalt, this one, the Home Depot Husky brand and the Lowes AWP brand. This was the only one I couldn't at least put my drill in to test the fit. Dewalt and Husky didn't fit my Dewalt dcd995 very well so they were out. I then alternated between this CLC and the AWP for a 12 camera security system install on a home. Fit and finish on both were nice, but this does seem better built. Both have Velcro strap retainers and plastic clips that are secure and effective. Both grip my drill firmly, reholster smoothly and hug my hip nicely. Both are easy to withdraw my drill from. The kicker for me was the elastic straps and pockets on the AWP are much more useful. This CLC has several closed bottom elastic pockets for 1" driver bits, useless to me. I drive with a driver and drill with a drill. There's just no useful accommodation to carry anything but the drill with this holster. The AWP has more open bottom pockets that hold drill bits securely, and an drawstring pocket for small items like screws or in my case fish rod tips. All in all it's a good holster, and experience leads me to believe it'll likely last longer than the Lowes brand. If you carry your drill everyday though, it's worth the few extra bucks to buy a few holsters to see how they'll feel in real life use.

The best drill holster hands down!
I gave this holster 5 stars! I work for a solar company so I am constantly going up and down ladders and moving around on the roof. This drill holster works perfect for me because it not only holds my makita drill and impact it has extra pockets and holders for my most used tools. The drill pocket its self fits your drill nice and snug i have also used dewalt with it, the pocket has a clip strap which is adjustable for different drill sizes as well as a velcro backing in between the strap and the pocket to keep your drill secure with no movement. In addition It has 8 mini pockets that are tight yet flexible enough to hold anything from drill bits to an average sized ratchet. Then in between where those outer pockets are and where the drill is kept there are 2 more pockets which can be used to carry tools such as dykes or linesmen. I usually carry my drill, 2 drill bits, ratchet, extra socket, flat head, sharpie, pencil, and a utility knife all one this drill holster with a few pockets to spare!!! All in all its an amazing addition to my tool collection def worth the money!

Great drill & driver holster.
Just what I needed to hold my impact driver or drill when I’m working on a ladder, or even just around the house. Locating and picking up tools after I set them down, or trying to balance them on top of the ladder was wasting a lot of time. It is angled to wear on your right hip; maybe you could put it on your left hip and cross draw with your right hand but I haven’t tried. I am left-handed and would have preferred a holder I could draw with my left hand. I bought a second set of the driver bits I use most often and keep them in the holster; now I rarely have to open my case of driver bits and pick through them. Another bit time saver. I paired this with a contractor tool and fastener pouch I wear on the other hip. I put them on and load them up with what I need for the job, grab the ladder, and get it done. No more dragging around plastic buckets with tools and boxes of fasteners all jumbled up. Less hassle and faster work.

Perfect for my M12 impact
Works great with my husky toolbelt. I wish I would have bought one sooner.

Great Holster !
I'm an electrician that always likes to be on top of really good tools and and labor saving devices. With that being said, this Drill holster is Awesome ! The only downside which is minimal is that it is set up for use on your Right Side only. I'm a righty which is fine but I like to keep my tool pouch on that side so I would love if they altered the design to be ambidextrous and able to be used on either side of you waist. You can actually still use it on the left side, the drill holder still works as intended but it doesn't "seat" into the holster as it does on the right side. Overall this is by far the Best drill holder on the market and the price is Great ! CLC has done it again !

Holds drill but not much else
I have a Ryobi drill and it fits fine. My only issue is the lack of security of any bits I might want to store on the holster. Most of the "slots" have no bottom and don't really hold bits tightly. I've had them fall off a couple of times, so I stopped using this feature. This was one of the reasons I bought this particular holster. If I were to buy a second holster, I think I would get something that had a top flap that would velcro over the bits to hold them more securely.
