Great addition to the laptop
Great addition to the laptop, thinking of getting a second laptop ( as its a old laptop ) because its so useful.X200 is a small but i wanted to use it as a cheep desktop, and used this base to add a printer, mouse.Came with the cd drive which you can change to a hard-drive for back up.

the Lenovo thinkpad
Although this is an awful lot of money for what is clearly nothing more than a docking station - It's exactly what I want, so I am really pleased with it!

oddly positioned battery connector
I've got two of these - one at work, one at home. They're pricey but convenient.Only complaint I have is the bizarre placement of the connector for charging a battery.

Search engine pointed me to wrong item
Cut a long story short, I typed in what i needed and was sent the wrong item. Including the import tax and return post I think I lost about 50 Euro.Would have been easier to throw the money out of the window as it would have saved me the trek to the post office to pay the tax.I was specific in my search so not sure why I was sent the wrong thing?

ThinkPad UltraBase
This product is not for everyone if you can work with a plug in external drive then you will save money. On the positive side it fits like a glove works well looks good makes having hard drive, DVD etc a cinch to fit.As you can see I cannot work without a computer as I'm dyslexic with this fited to the Lenovo thinkPad I work with ease.Would I buy it again then yes is the word.

way, way overpriced...........
Having bought a high end spec Lenovo X201 tablet PC with the new i7 processor at over £1.7k, I then wanted the docking station for it to save plugging in all the peripherals. It turned out this X200 docking station costs between £150-£180 and it doesn't do much more than give you an extra USB port since there's already three on the computer. There's no DVD writer included which I think they should clearly state as some might assume from the photograph it is already be fitted as standard. Why else would you buy the docking station! You still need to buy the DVD writer seperately at another £90. What a rip off! A slimline external drive with comparable performance can be bought on Amazon for around £35 which is what I decided to do. It's all plastic and the locking and opening parts are no doubt likely to snap in time. So you can't even say build quality makes up for the exorbitant price.Come on Lenovo, please stop acting as if your products are worth paying more for because you used to be part of IBM.As I've said in my similar review of the separately available DVD drive, I'll be waiting for those daft enough to pay the inflated prices to re-sell them in the Amazon marketplace and until then, I won't bother.
