Easy to assemble
I really enjoyed this stencil set for makin a few crossbody purses for nieces and such. I read where others were upset that there’s no instructions. Well, it ain’t hard, so let me help y’all out a little.Step One - Lay the stencils out on some 4-5 ounce leather of your choice. (I used plain veg tan and hand dyed mine in the pictures)Step Two - Mark the leather with a good and sharp leather awl. Be sure to use some weights on the stencils to keep it from moving while you scratch the shape and mark the stitching holes with the awl. The straps will obviously have to be 3/4 inch wide x however long you need them. I cut one to 63 inches long for the adjustment side, and 10 inches long on the buckle side. I used a 3/4 inch buckle.Step Three - Using a freshly sharpened or new blade, cut out all of the leather pieces, and punch the stitching holes with 4mm stitching prongs (use a two prong or at most a four prong where the marks line up straight for that distance)Step Four - Bevel the edges of the straps and flat sections of the purse where the edges won’t be sewn together. At this point if you are going to hand dye, do so now. I used Fiebing’s Pro Dye Walnut and applied it with large wool scraps to get the slightly worn and distressed finished look (also called brindling). Once the dye is completely dry, I use Fiebing’s leather Balm with atom wax (netural) to seal and condition the leather.Step Five - Scratch up the surface where the round stitching lines on the lid flap and then apply glue. Once glue has set, line up the front closure strap with the stitching holes on the lid flap and sew. I used 1mm waxed thread in a natural color. Now do the same for the lid flap and scratch glue, line up, and stitch the lid flap to the back piece of the purse.Step Six - Lay the back of the purse and the lid flap rough side up and then line up the side/bottom piece up and pinch together to line up first few holes. Now stitch em up all the way to the other side. Repeat with the front piece and stitch it on as wellStep Seven - Sew straps to both side of the purse and enjoy! These ain’t all inclusive instructions, but are meant for basic purposes of puttin this purse together in the order of assembly, with a few helpful (hopefully) hints along the way. Relax and enjoy, that’s what leather workin is all about.

Great for a Test
I can understand your frustration. If the bag is too small, it can be difficult to use it properly. Adding an inch or two to the bag would certainly make it more comfortable to use. Have you considered reaching out to the manufacturer or seller to see if they offer a larger size or if they can accommodate your request for a bigger bag?

It’s very tiny.
It’s a little girls purse. Beware of this before you buy it to make your mom a handbag or your grandmother? Somebody who is used to caring a larger handbag. The photo is very deceptive.

you can buy it
I don't understand why the ratings are so low. The bag turns out 100% the same as in the picture. One minor drawback is that for the lower part of the leather there is half of the part here, and the second needs to be mirrored, but this was done to save space.

Worth the Money Spent
The thickness of the templates is perfect. Seems like a durable product. With the size of this purse I should be able to get quite a few out of my leather.
