Im 5 10 170 lbs and large seems to big would a medium ve a better fit?

I am 5'11" 170 lbs. The medium is way too short in the arms and the back needs another inch or it feels like I will rip it off Incredible Hulk style if I move wrong. I have not tried the large so do not know if that is any better.

I’m 5”8 and 145 pounds, and I’m on the skinnier side, which size should I get?

The sleeves are long on my XL and I roll the cuffs up. I'm 6'4" and 206 lbs. A medium may work for you. You can can always return it if doesn't fit.

how light is this jacket compared to canvas cotton?

Its a pretty heavy jacket...thickness and warmth wise..I would not consider it a lightweight jacket. Love the fit and quality...very rugged and seems built to last. I have a green one and a black one. The green one actually looks and feels like a heavy duty military type jacket. Very pleased with it. Hope this helps!
