I picked up this ratchet screwdriver set for a project that required working in a very tight space under a sink, and it did exactly what I needed it to do. The low-profile ratchet made it much easier to reach screws that would have been difficult with a standard screwdriver or ratchet. If you're looking for an inexpensive tool for those hard-to-reach spots, this set is a great value and gets the job done.

This tool is incredibly easy to use and perfect for working in tight spaces. It completely replaces those tiny Allen wrenches that come with build your own furniture, making assembly so much smoother. It also feels much safer and more controlled than using an electric screwdriver or cordless drill when putting together wood furniture. A simple, reliable upgrade that makes the whole process less frustrating and a lot more efficient.

/* 2024 Update: This tool gets pretty regular use since I apparently have a penchant for working in tight spaces. It seems to come out at least once on every job and saves my butt constantly. It still works and looks as good as ever. I have downgraded to 4 stars because of 2 details that have a pretty big impact on use: 1) The ratchet engagement is very low. I counted just 15 teeth which means 24 degrees of engagement, well below even the worst "normal" ratchet handles. Normally high-engagement ratchets are just a luxury but given that this tool is specifically suited for tight spaces where handle movement is (almost by definition) limited, the low engagement seriously limits its usability. 2) It's very easy to disengage the ratchet. Some users may say it is "slipping" but in my use it's never slipped on its own -- it's always been because I pushed the lever partially while using the tool. The location of the lever makes this very easy because your fingers tend to end up in that spot during use (especially when using it blindly). You still can't beat the value of this and if you're not working fasteners "by braille" up to your armpit in an engine, it's probably fine for most applications. */ UI bought this specifically to get into a tight space that my other two mini ratchet handles couldn't fit (Craftsman CMMT12007 and a Harbor Freight model). The Craftsman had too much offset in the handle and the head was too fat. The Harbor Freight ratchet is built the same way as this, but the bit holder is a protruding socket, whereas this tool uses a pass-through holder. The bits that come with this handle are also, indeed, a little shorter than 'standard' ones. All this adds up to the absolute most-compact possible ratchet. It's a little miracle! Other Details: • The lever for changing between 'loosen' and 'tighten' is smooth and low-profile, and when you move is there is no feedback (a "click" sound or feeling). This makes it hard to use blindly. I had to fit my driver into the screw heads by feel (very tight space!) and I often moved this lever by accident while doing that. It would be improved by adding some ridges to the outside so it's easier to feel, and making the spring stiffer. That would make it harder to bump accidentally and also give better feedback when the lever is moved. • The bit holder seems to be properly sized; my DeWalt bits fit in just as well as the ones that come with the set, and a magnet holds them in place nicely without making them hard to remove. • The included bits are a good variety but the hex drivers are in metric only (3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm). I wish there were an SAE version of these either included or as a different set. I needed a 5/32 hex driver so the 4mm worked for me (3.96mm). • The plastic bumper on the handle is nice for smoothing what would otherwise be stamped metal edges of the handle, but I'm not sure how long it will last. • I like the light color of the tool, which makes it easier to find in a bag or crowded work space. A bright color option (like orange) would be nice, even if it's just the plastic handle bumper.

This tool was great to help build my cabinet in tight place. I bought a cabinet to fit in my pantry but the angle to tight screws were difficult to access until I used this tool. Very convenient to have.

Works good it tight spots

The Mulwark screwdriver ratchet set is the new tool I have been needing for years but did not know existed. I originally bought it to tighten the Allen wrench screws on a trundle bed. I discovered that the ratchet allowed me to tighten the screws even when I could only fit the wrench into a single angled space. So instead of swinging the wrench over to the other side to reverse loosen - tighten, I can use the ratchet to go both ways. For a woman who does not usually fix things herself, this was enlightening and comforting. I can use this tool to tighten a variety of small screws including Allen, Philips and regular. This was useful for the screws on my laptop table too.

This works perfectly fine for what it is, but I purchased it be able to more easily tighten the screws on a newly installed door knob and unfortunately it's too wide to fit.

We installed a combination door lock on our front door that takes batteries. After that, we had shutters installed over the glass part of the door snd only realized way after that there was a very small space between the shutter frame and the door lock case. To remove the case to change the battery, you need to unscrew to cover on both sides. Well, we realized we couldn’t use a screw driver due to the tiny space. Thank goodness for this screw driver! It fit perfectly in the tight space and we were able to remove the cover and replace the screw as well. Not sure what we would have done without this tool! If we only use it once a year for this purpose it was well worth the cost. Tool has a good grip, lots of sizes of bits for all kinds of projects. Very easy to use snd comes in a sturdy case.

Good quality, reliable brand in the tool industry. Easy to use, especially in tight and confined spaces with low height. I recommend buying it because every person at home or in the office needs it.

It is a very well-made tool but somehow I'm not confident that it can stand up to really tough jobs. I've tried it a few times for light jobs only.
