The setup is quick and easy Follow every step exactly as the instructions say and there are no issues I had excellent results on the first try for an hour with the “deeper start” then the device stopped working and would not connect to wifi The comprehensive troubleshooting guide helped me find the issue quickly ( which turned out to be a phone setting ) Give the unit time to connect . It can be a little slow. The graphics are excellent, the schools of salmon were located quickly However, remember that even when you find them they may not be on the bite!😆

First off I've been using the Deeper Pro+ for a couple years now myself. My son has just started to get back into fishing after several years. I wanted to get him a Deeper to help him since he does mostly shore fishing and some kayak fishing. I tried it out before giving it to him and found it anything but a basic entry level unit. Upon opening it is very solid and well built, yet lightweight. It does not open like my Pro + model, however it charges from the outside with an included USB charging cable. It had some features of my Pro + model, was surprised to see the Fish ID, which shows "fish" icons and actual depth of each fish marked. Also has a live readout of actual water depth and a nice chart readout of the lake bottom. This is great for the beginning or casual angler. Having a sonar like the "Boat" guys do from shore is a real plus! The downloadable app also includes a weather screen, to show current and future conditions as well as a solunar calendar and moon phase which I personally find useful. The app also lets you document your catches and photograph your trophy, right from the Deeper app so you can keep a log. All in all very impressed in the performance of such an inexpensive unit.. I know my son will absolutely love this tool in his arsenal. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to get an inexpensive portable sonar, without sacrificing quality. For me, the Deeper "Start" gets an A++. Now that I am done, I guess I have to give it my son!

I have this one time for fishing off a bank. Because I was able to set up the app and connect it to my phone in under 2 minutes the very first I am giving it 4 stars. The depths seemed accurate. You could clearly see fish. I was trying to find water temp on the screen but was unable. I connected it to my phone. I don't know if it's possible but I am going to try using my tablet on my next trip. I will update the review after I have had a chance to really put it through the paces. I only had about 30 minutes of fishing time. I would like to see how it works for an extended amount of time both on the the bank and on my kayak.

I really liked this item, its easy-ish to use(easier if someone else holds the phone). I thought it was very accurate. However it is worth noting that it is quite heavy and will fly far! I will admit mine broke free of the 30lb braid and floated away(it was night time so once it broke off we couldn't see it). I wont buy another one because its crazy expensive, but I would recommend others to buy it if they have the spare money and are interested if their fishing hole is dead or active.

As a lot of other negative reviews have said, it loses connection a LOT. Like usually every other case. I had to completely shut off wifi and turn it back on for it to reconnect a number of times. Maybe its an issue with the device working with Androids. Very inaccurate, many false positives. For this price point the quality is so poor the only use for it is as a depth finder. Dont buy it for finding fish cause it will mark ones that arent there and not mark the ones that are there. Im returning it. It has a severe inability to read through denser water and it will then err on placing fish in it. The thermocline showed up as a heavy haze even at lower sensitivity. Im told the Pro+ model is a lot better and was shown screen shots from a local guy and it indeed looks better. Im not going to invest $200 in something I may use 2-3 times a year. But this one, avoid it unless you just want it to just show you depth. I tried reeling it very very slow and also fast and everyone in between. I took it to a pond that was 10 feet deep and fully known to not have fish, and it shows quite a few fish, large ones even. I could cast it about 35 feet with a 7.5 foot medium-light ugly stick using 15# braided line.

Update: 3/4/2021 Finally Deeper support cleared out my issue! I am a happy camper! New one works perfectly and connects! __________________________________ Update: 2/23/2021 Received new one. Same issue as before. The unit does not display Deeper START in the Wifi network like the first one I purchased that stopped working after a week. Tried on two different phones, laptops and tablets. What does appear is ESP_2B6442 which is the device but support clarified that is wrong. Nonetheless I tried to connect to that and it immediately fails. So a 3rd unit now does this. Contacting support again and they are sending another one. Wifi+ is off, there is no VPN and the phone has been restarted to eliminate any issues. Device placed on charge or in water and away from other Wifi devices and no effect. Unit is flashing that's it's broadcasting, app has all permissions also but that does not matter when the correct Wifi name can not be connected to. Unit is fully charged, Mobile/Cellular data is off, WiFi assist is off, Smart network management does not exist, Portable WiFi hotspot is off. That covers anything and still does not work properly. I have spent days to make it work and 3 in a row are doing this. I sent them back and waiting for support to diagnose what is going on, Deeper application has permission to use "Mobile/Cellular" and "Location". To check this, go to your "Phone settings" -> "Application settings" and find "Fishdeeper". __________________________________ Update: 2/19/2021 After speaking with Deeper support they determined a second unit is faulty? They are sending another replacement. I asked they test it before sending it out and they stated they will. Customer service is great but having the company in Lithuania and having to wait to get a replacement from there puts a damper on my fishing schedule and usage of the Deeper. Will update once received. __________________________________ Update: 2/14/2021 New unit received and same issue. Deeper does not appear on list of Wifi devices to connect to. Does not appear on my Huawei Mate 10 nor my LG K10 nor my new Asus Zenbook nor on my Samsung Galaxy tablet nor on my Dell PC Wifi network. It appears to be a bad batch/series? I have emailed support again to see what they will do again. Initially the first unit I had would display Deeper in the Wifi list to connect to. Then it never appeared again and now only displays ESP_280119 which I know is the unit due to the serial number but you can never connect to it. It just fails when you try. This is what both units are doing now. I have emailed their support for an answer but I mentioned that it appears they have a bad batch of these and are not being certified tested leaving the factory. __________________________________ Update: 2/13/2021 4 stars now. After contacting support, they determined my unit was faulty. They are sending a new replacement at no charge via UPS. Will see how the replacement is received and how it works. __________________________________ Update: 2/8/2021 Changed from 1 to 2 star for now. After contacting Deeper support they (quickly, one day turn time) determined that the unit is to exchanged. Now that is what I call excellent service! I will update again once this issue is resolved and the replacement is received and how it works and what occurred with Deeper support. __________________________________ Initial review: 2/4/2021 Purchased a week ago. Only used it once and it worked perfectly. One week later it does not work anymore. Does not show in Wi-Fi anymore to connect to. Contacted support. Never seen a device fail so quickly with hardly any usage, disappointing.

Ok so I've had this thing going on 4 or 5 years and have never had a issue with it easy to use and is telling the truth on your screen. Not like others when it will say a rock or stick is a fish. Tip just make sure its charged up lol. If you bank fish or even in a small jon boats and dont want to spend bass pro shop money. This is the way to go.

The Deeper Start is a basic fish finder that is much easier to use, and more dependable for me than the competitors model. The application used seems much less "fussy" and prone to problems than my previous fish finder. It will tell you how deep the water is, whether or not fish are found in the area, their relative size, the contour of the bottom, and the presence of weeds. It does not have a "raw view", but I never used that anyway. It is small, the battery charges up quickly, and I've never come close to using up all the battery power while on the water. My sole minor complaint is that it measures depth from the tops of the weeds. In a very weedy lake, this means you will get some messages saying "water too deep or too shallow", at which time it stops working until you pass to an area where the weeds are further from the surface. I would buy this finder again and find it quite functional, if not packed full of options.

L ho acquistato per fare un regalo al mio compagno. A suo dire è un ottimo prodotto per chi come lui non ha grosse pretese. Molto intuitivo e maneggevole.lo schermo è molto facile e intuitivo da capire. Per chi e alle prime armi e non ha bisogno di mappature e geolocalizzazione è un ottimo prodotto ad un ottimo prezzo. Anche in notturna azionando la voce il deeper lampeggia così da vedere sempre dove si trova. Consigliato

This piece of garbage just straight up doesn't work, after I put it in the water the wifi signal doesn't even show up at all, on the rate occasion it does I can't even join the network, I suspect it's due to the wifi connection only flashes briefly so by the time I click on them the connection is lost again. The device is fully charged, I've turned off auto join, forgot my usual network, disabled wifi assist, restarted my phone, updated bios, nothing worked because it's not my problem, I will be leaving a one star review and return this pile of dogturd, the fact that a unit THIS FAULTY can escape QA is pure insanity.

Definitely worth it had to play around and use it for a bit to be honest the clip on the deeper I personally don’t think would break just tie a solid knot before you throw it
