LEXO Temperature Mug - 16 oz, Luxury Slide Seal Lid : desertcart.co.uk: Home & Kitchen Review: I had wanted to wait until I had done a scientific study before writing a review, with numbers that detail out whether or not it works. But the fact is, it works. I put 195 degree water into it. Within the time it took to steep tea, it was 165 degrees... almost burny hot, but not quite. Four hours later it was still 145 degrees... basically perfect drinking temperature. I'm genuinely impressed. It really does bring drinks down to a drinkable temperature quickly, and keeps it warm for a really long time. Now, the lid is kind of terrible. It takes a *lot* of getting used to, in order to drink out of what is basically a hole in a flat wall. It's not like a thermos or a Yeti that have a little lip to facilitate drinking. This lid is definitely bad. However, it really is the best working thermal mug I've ever worked with. The Thermos Elite has a better one-handed operation and drinking lid. The Contigos have better grippy sides and a better drinking lid. But nothing beats the Lexo's raw "cool it, then keep it hot" functionality. I absolutely love it. Review: Initial Post (03/02/18): I bought this product because I heard about the thermal cooling and heat retention technology that the mug had. I would say that this product delivers on what it is meant to do -- cool your coffee to a drinkable level and maintain it at that temperature for hours. I used to have a Contigo mug that was as durable as this; however, I wanted a travel mug that can give me near instant gratification sans the burnt tongue. The Lexo mug itself is well constructed; however, the "luxury" lid leaves a lot to be desired. I've heard that the original flip lid has issues which is why I opted with the "luxury" lid and that too had it's issues. The inside of the lid has crevices where residual coffee/cream can accumulate resulting in "sludge" forming in the inside. I found that using extremely hot water can help dislodge some of it. Although cleaning the lid was one of the reasons why I gave this product a low score, the primary reason was due to it's faulty construction. I was shocked when my "luxury" lid couldn't hold a seal any longer. Investigating the cause, I opened my mug and found a small rubber gasket floating in my coffee. Luckily I was holding it my hand since I usually put my travel mug in my bag along with my laptop and other belongings. With the amount of engineering and technology put into this travel mug I find it hard to believe that a lid can be its downfall. Current review as of 04/01/18: I arrived home a couple of days ago to two lids which I assume came from Thermavant customer service. One was a luxury lid model and the other was a simple lid model. I've since discarded my defective lid and have been using both the lids. So far so good and works as intended. I will continue to update based on the mugs overall performance. Note: Pictures below are of the defective lid and not the current ones I have.
