I call it a grubbing hoe with a pick.
Sturdy. What I like is that itโs not as heavy as it looks

Very useful tool
Have had these pick-axe tools prior and someone "borrowed" and didn't return my last one. I researched dimensions of what was available and the blade size on this one is perfect while others were too small or too large. I also like the fiberglas handle as opposed to wood as the fiberglas will not splinter and is stronger for prying leverage. Only negative is the metal pick-axe does loosen during heavy duty use, which I remedied and inserting some nails into the fiberglas handle between the metal pick-axe. Pveral good value.

Great for the price
Great for the price. If you need to dig it does the job well. I like it

Good, solid mattock
I agree with other reviewers about the head not fitting properly. This is common with all the mattocks that Iโve ever bought. Just use epoxy putty all around where the head is going to be, then follow the instructions like normal, and wait for the epoxy to harden. Iโve used it weekly for over 2 years without issue.
