Not great but better than breaking off the vents!
I have used many different more expensive phone holders in my 2016. Jeep Cherokee and I basically have no more vent slats left. This phone holder is a great idea and I wish I would have had it from the start. However, the actual holder itself is made pretty cheaply. And the mechanism isn’t ideal however it works. I was torn between returning it or keeping it and decided I’m going to keep it because it’s the best I’ve had in a while. I will just be very careful when using it and try to make it last. Once it breaks, I’m not sure if I would buy the same one again.

Will not fit iphone16 in a case and little plastic tab that holds it to the dash broke off first pothole.

An almost clever design that, due to some small oversights, loses a lot of functionality
I almost LOVE this phone holder! [2017 Jeep Cherokee]I have had a series of bad experiences with driving phone holders and it seems I'm cursed to continue, however this is the closest one to actually basic functionality yet. It fits into and snaps on the vent between your steering wheel mount and your screen console. It didn't seem like it would be secure at first but after it became clear it's extremely custom moulded to fit into a certain spot, it made sense and hasn't fallen off more than the very first time I (probably insufficiently) mounted it. I've fussed with it (see below) many times and it's stayed on. Already LEAGUES ahead of the 5+ others I've tried that stick on and then melt off or stupid suction cups that are functionally useless in the long term. The main issue though... they made it too thin. Like way too thin for modern users. It has little arms that clamp down to 'grab' your phone and secure it. This is a phenomenal idea and should work extremely well! However, do you have a case on your phone? Too bad for you, then. You can't use this feature. In fact it's debatable whether you can even use this mount if you have anything but a 'skintight' latex cover. Anything I could consider a 'case' would add at least 3-6mm of thickness and that tiny margin of error was apparently enough for the designs to OK this plan. If you are in the 1% or w/e that go caseless on your multi-hundred dollar enslavement to corporations box, then sure, this is 5 stars. But if you're a regular person who actually doesn't want to spend a ton of money any time you fumble it out of your hands slightly and have shock absorbers of any kind on your device, you'll be like me. Cursing at this thing while driving, leaning it slighty backwards so it doesn't fall out of the too-skinny resting platform... and forget about charging while using, which is a feature that would work fine if you don't have a case on it.Overall I'm just baffled, like an olympic iceskating performance where they just decided to do it with their arms tied together for no reason. By far the best design I've seen in these devices, ruined almost entirely, but only almost, by what seems like a really avoidable pitfall from total lack of understanding your actual audience. If they could fix that, I would recommend this to anyone. I'm going to be looking for some copycat competitor that fixes the compatibility with cases actively.BTW I do not have an otterbox, or a cabelas waterproof case or anything. It's a normal metal case with raised plastic bevels on the edge so the screen doesn't rub on surfaces, and the bevels seem to be the main issue. I also have a pop-socket mount on the back (With no pop socket in it currently) which makes the problem even worse, but it would still not work with my regular case which is a non-negotiable for me.

No instructions
This item comes with several pieces in the package but absolutely NO INSTRUCTIONS for installation! As a result, it is virtually worthless to no one thank ally inclined folks. If it was usable, it would have been great, I'm sure. Disappointing.
