Fantastic product, app issues have been resolved
I am very pleased with this MAXcam 360c. I wanted a dashcam for my truck to be prepared for any insurance scam attempt or accident. Adding the M1 or M2 wasn't an option as my existing Escort Max II was not compatible. I came across this MAXcam 360c and thought I would upgrade my old MAX II that frankly alerted so often to false signals I rarely used it anymore and just relied on Waze to inform me of potential speed traps. I was hesitant because of the cost, and more so because of a lot of negative reviews about the Drive Smarter app, which seemed kind of key to realizing the full potential of this unit. I noted that a lot of those negative reviews were more than a year old, so I took the chance. Boy, am I glad I did. I have been running this MAXcam for a little over a week now and it has not picked up a single false signal. I run it in AutoLoK mode in the city/suburbs, and then Highway when otherwise. I disabled X band, and toggled on K, and Ka "super wide." I live in a very police heavy area and I am only getting alerted when there is a police car nearby running radar. I have not encountered many issues with the Drive Smarter app. It connects within 30 seconds and I can edit the settings easily, and the map works great. I've had it disconnect or be unable to connect to the unit once or twice in a week, and I simply close out the app and then restart it and everything works great. Is the Drive Smarter map as good as Waze or Google Maps? Of course not, and I doubt it ever will be. What would be amazing is if Escort struck a partnership deal with either Waze or Google to integrate their units with their map. I think they would completely own the radar detector market if they did this. But all in all, I am very pleased with this purchase and feel like I am well protected from a false insurance claim, as well as an overzealous state trooper.

Bulky design and persistent technical failures
I had high expectations for this unit given the premium price point, but it has been a major disappointment. For an investment that sits near the $1,000 mark, I expected a seamless experience, but it has been anything but that. Quality & Ease of Use: The design is incredibly bulky—it feels like having a 1980s-era cell phone hanging from the windshield. It isn’t discreet at all. Furthermore, the ease of use is hampered by constant prompts to format the SD card. Because it refuses to record video until formatted, the dash cam functionality is essentially useless when you actually need it. Installation & False Alarms: The installation relies on a magnetic window mount. While convenient to attach, it makes the unit an incredibly easy target for a "smash and grab" theft. I also struggle with constant power issues; I haven't determined if it's the cable or the unit, but it’s unreliable. Range & Value for Money: While the range is decent when it actually stays powered on, the false alarms and software bugs make it hard to justify the cost. Overall: I wish I had chosen a more discreet, reliable detector. This tries to do two things at once (radar and video) but fails to do either one well enough to justify the high price. It definitely does not offer good value for money.

Exceptional Performance with the Escort MAXcam 360c - A Standalone Marvel
From the moment I unboxed the Escort MAXcam 360c, I knew I was in for a treat. This device is not just a radar detector; it's a comprehensive driving assistant that exceeded my expectations in almost every aspect. Stellar Standalone Functionality: First and foremost, the MAXcam 360c shines brilliantly as a standalone unit. Even without utilizing the accompanying app, this device operates seamlessly, offering intuitive controls and easy-to-understand alerts. It's a plug-and-play marvel that doesn't rely on a smartphone to deliver its best. The dial is a greatly overlooked feature and makes setup and settings easy to change quickly. Impressive Range and Accuracy: The range of this device is nothing short of impressive. It detects signals from a considerable distance, giving me ample time to adjust my driving. The accuracy is top-notch, with minimal false alerts, which is a testament to its sophisticated engineering. Cameras - Adequate and Functional: The built-in cameras are satisfactory. While it may not be the pinnacle of camera technology, they certainly get the job done. The front camera provide a decent quality of footage, ensuring that I have a reliable eyewitness on the road. Overall Experience: The Escort MAXcam 360c is a remarkable device that offers peace of mind on the road. Its standalone capabilities are a standout feature, perfect for those who prefer a device that works independently of a smartphone. The range and accuracy of its radar detection are exceptional, making it a reliable companion for any journey. While the camera is just okay, they complement the unit's primary function well, making it a great all-in-one solution for driving safety. In conclusion, the Escort MAXcam 360c is a fantastic investment for anyone looking to enhance their driving experience with technology that is both reliable and efficient. It's a product that delivers on its promises, and then some. It uses the same hardware as the red line 360c and is just as capable. The biggest complaint in the reviews is about the app, and honestly, you really don't need the app. If you want to watch a video, just connect it to your computer after the drive.

Expensive but probably worth it
I had the Cobra Road Scout and it was beyond disappointing. Simply put, the camera in the Road Scout is OK but the radar function was abysmal. And it completely failed after three years. I've had the MaxCam for a few weeks and it's impressive. Very few false alarms in places I know they exist and it seems to have great reception qualities for incoming radar or other threats. I'm really happy with this purchase.

Video Dashcam feature is terrible
Radar functionality is good. But the Dashcam functionality is pitiful. Don't buy this unit for the Dashcam features. Videos are difficult to retrive, take too long to load, and each short clip only runs for a few seconds before it stalls, buffers, and then continues for a few more seconds, then the same thing again and again. Makes video retrival all but impossible to accomplish. For such an expensive unit....shame on the Escort !!!
